Shocking team performance today. Villa compete for everything, tackle and attack at pace.
Palace are so wasteful, slow and give teams far to much room to work in all over the pitch. The only thing they do at pace is slip and fall over!
Luka is a total waste on the team sheet!
We desperately need some younger players in the squad.
As for the crossing/free kicks/corners today did their goalkeeper have homing device in his gloves or something? All of them absolute crap!
Can't accurately pass the ball around and put 10 men to the sword in 55 minutes of play to win a game or a least get a draw is nothing short of dreadful!

If Roy goes, then what? Months without a manager!

Are you for real..!!

So Roy takes us to the point of the "gates of hell" and because he has done such an inept job, lost the dressing room etc.. - we stick with him, whilst we sail on into oblivion under "Captain Clueless"..!!

Mate there are plenty of Managers out there that would jump at the chance of working with what is still a very talented squad.

We just need to get rid of Captain Clueless and now..!!

Agree with every word. Something clearly is wrong and regretfully we are going to have to get back to basics and as boring as it was 4 in midfield, two of which must be Ridewald and Mcarthy. Got to stop conceding and dig in. As Alardyce used to say ‘respect the point!’
This is not the time to sack the manager but come together.

It was a despicable and abhorrent performance.

I had NO confidence whatsoever that we would get something from the game when they were reduced to 10 men and I made this abundantly clear to my dear wife.

I appreciate that I am being exceedingly repetitive but we have an old squad, lacking in energy, pace and mobility and this was very apparent yet again today.

We had NO attacking threat whatsoever down the right with Schlupp and Ward deployed there and all our forays went down the left.We played in front of A.Villa's defence and were unable to make much progress behind it.Benteke went missing and returned to the Benteke we have seen in recent seasons. All our free kicks and corners posed no threat to A.Villa at all.
There were big gaps in front of PVA and perhaps a return to 4-3-3 might be more beneficial.

It was an abhorrent performance and I truly believe that relegation is now a realistic possibility.

Hodgson had the chance today after the Liverpool debacle to strengthen the midfield even if it meant dropping Eze. However he stuck with the two in midfield who were over run last week and they were again today. Our old and weak back four needed protection. It was bleeding obvious, but no the same tactics were used again and we was stuffed by 10 men. If Zaha and Eze are going to be selected then those alongside them have to be younger and a better quality. Hodgson had a boring but winnable formation up to COVID times last March. Since then he has changed it around and we have crashed with the odd game or two where we have looked okay. He had to change it back today but he screwed up. He needs to walk now and let a caretaker manager take us through the next few matches awaiting a new manager to come in. Not sure who, but there must be someone out there? Even if it means building a side to get us out of the championship next season back to the prem?

Agree I feared the worst, but then mings git sent off so hear we go a positive 2nd half.....lol

He is a git ... but his sending off presented us with a great opportunity to get back into the game. We just looked slow and disorganised. So much more could have been done to put their goal under pressure. Poor team work today.

Can anyone suggest where the requisite 22 points we need to stay up are going to come from ?

At this rate Sheff Utd will be getting their first 3 points from us soon.

If we can't afford to buy new players in the January window all I can suggest is we trot out some from our Under 23 team as it is obvious our aging squad just can't cope.

We need replacements for PVA, Luka, Ward, McArthur, Kouyate at the very least. Or perhaps, a new manager who can actually manage the team we've got?

We just spent 25M on Eze. We can't afford to do that every window, especially in the middle of a pandemic when there is no money coming in.

Our current roster is more than good enough to comfortably stay up. If Roy can't even manage that, it's time for him to move on.

2020 Feb. (Van Aanholt) Palace 1 - 0 Newcastle

You can sometimes take a few positives from defeat, but not this one , it was woeful, from everyone. We are tired and off the pace by a long way, I'm dreading playing a quick pacy fast passing Leicester on Monday.

The problem is that a number of players need to be replaced but there is hardly any re-sale value in our 'Dad's Army' and I suspect little prospect of an injection of sufficient funds to bring in a few younger, more vibrant players.

Palace have ageing overpaid players who are not up to par January transfer market will be crucial Young defenders are a must buy and SP must kick RH upstairs / I don’t think he has the balls to sack him RH can no longer motivate the team and now he is opted for a more open game our ageing defence is easily exposed LM and PVA are no longer fit to wear a Palace shirt and we must get rid I have often argued that a sports psychologist would help our cause but our major problem lies with SP and his love child RH Start changes at the top and work downward would be best for the club but I fear at best it will the opposite
