Would an experienced manager such as Nuno, Dyche or Howe be happy or the right choice to work in our management structure which incorporates a Sporting Director?
This could be why we’re looking at Cooper and Ismael who may be more amenable to working with this structure.
The role then would more akin to head coach.
What is the job description of the vacancy - are we looking for a manager or head coach?
This would surely assist in determining the appropriate candidate.
At the moment the disparity of the candidates seems to indicate some fuzzy thinking by the club.

we have wasted millions on players over the last 3/4 years and we will have about 50m extra a year if no contracts are renewed, surely we can push the boat out a bit for the most important person at the club.

We will never know full details but they can be gagging orders for a period. Usually for specific period ie he could not have acted as a consultant to City for Cup Final. It often prohibits any contact with competitors or customers for that period. Often technically you are still employed but not required to work. In this case he almost certainly had a clause not to work in EPL till season ended.

I agree and all reports a £4.5m compensation package as well. It’s ok to say he has done this at this level and that at level, but managing reserves and youth is a lot different than Championship and Premiership football.
He has got Swansea into the play off last two seasons, but even the Swansea fans were surprised first time around.
On Saturday against Brentford on a couple of occasions he actually remained me of Marco Silva, during the Palace 4.Watford 0 match clueless in how to deal with the situation.
