Amazing if it gets confirmed. Not that we were in for him but I prefer him to the Spanish waiter, the Portuguese employment bureau, the Italian Twitter disgrace and the second choice Mourinho. So by my unbiased reckoning we’ve done better than Everton and Spurs as they descend through their options…..and Roma. Thank goodness we are close to the end of all this Manager speculation….and can get back to the real business of the transfer speculation Marco Rues on a three year contract anyone.

Guys I am not here to to make enemies or to antagonise people all I am doing is sharing information. Yes I started the thread saying meet our New Manager (Lampard) he was a candidate & clearly was interviewed by Palace however my contact jumped the gun & got the info completely wrong but again he was only passing on what he was told/knew. Then it was Nuno which again was correct until he did the dirty on us at the 11th hour so not sure I can be blamed or moaned at on this. I then announced days ago before it was even being reported that Favre was a done deal on a 3 year contract & today it was finally released/confirmed by the media tonight. So when people say it’s been in the press for days there has been nothing until tonight that the deal is confirmed. Press conference will be Friday along with new kit release. Would love this! I wanted Nuno at the begining but What a great appointment this is if all is good. I must still admit there is a small part of me waiting for the typical 'talks have fallen through' article lol fingers are firmly crossed

Wow what an appointment,a manager who has got teams into the champions league. I remember Parish saying ages ago he wanted us playing like Dortmund,now we have their former manager. Unreal appointment work permit permitting which shouldn't be a problem.

Except you didnt say that. You said talks had started which was being reported everywhere. Since talks had only started the 3 year deal was just a guess based upon previous deals. It may even be our standard start point but since term is an essential feature of any contract it would have been a key negotiation point. Every negotiation will balance term against fee. I actually wouldn't be surprised if our kick off point is in fact a rolling one year deal and we use the longer term to negotiate down other items. At the point that you posted (pre negotiations starting) all that could have been claimed by anyone was that talks had commenced, maybe even whether they used zoom or teams but thats about it. Everything else would have been part of the negotiation.
