I'd say that complex issues do not belong in simplistic sci fi programs mainly for kids when presented in this way. I accept that TV shows have been using social issues as the basis of fiction for a long time, but when, for example, Star Trek did their race episode back in the '60s, it felt far less political. David Attenborough is a passionate, intelligent, well-informed, interesting and kind man who cares about the future of our planet. Not for himself, me or you, but for our grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I have never heard him express a political opinion, right or left. Climate change is real. It's a proven fact and dealing with it is urgent. It's reality is accepted world-wide. Those that seek to deny it, to ensure their own comfort, are denying their heirs a future. He is far from a bore. He is among the most interesting people on TV.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

No not really I don’t think the politicisation of Dr Who is a overt as being painted on here.
