Thanks Teddy - I am due up in Scotland in a few weeks I will look out for it - The brew in Campden was called Campden Hells -
Other Lagers that I have enjoyed - Baltica blue, Cobra, Kingfisher, Tusker + Castle there are probably more but I cant recall just at the moment -

I like lager as well. One I particularly enjoy is Inniss & Gunn which is pretty widely available in Scotland - not sure if it's in England much. Can't say I'm a great fan of Craft Beer though which I find tends to be too tangy (and expensive).

Another one appearing more often up here is Heverlee which is Belgian and very nice.

Does anyone know the answer to this? BOTTLES of beer (not cans)...why does beer/ale/stout etc always come in 500ml bottles whereas lager is always in 330ml?

There are larger lager bottles (play on words not intended), but they are merely 'doubles' ie 660ml. I'm talking about the standard size.

Any truth in the theory that lager drinkers are, in fact, "shandy drinkers" or "park players" etc etc ie they can't cope with a proper-sized serving?

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

I'd assume it is to reduce the queue at the gents - less in = less out

Hip Hop from Langham Brewery [Link] just a stone's throw from me, is a firm favourite in these parts. They produce a wide range of beers to suit all tastes.

So many interesting beers available all round the country these days. To think we used to rejoice at the sight of a Watneys Red Barrel Party Seven being dumped on the kitchen table just as the volume was cranked up.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

All that stuff had going for it was that it was easier to carry than a crate of beer from the pub (deposit on the crate and each bottle).

I've just poured myself a 440ml can of draught Guinness so what does that mean? No hard and fast rule.

Is it an apocryphal story claiming that Special Brew was available on draught in the more colourful districts of Glasgow?

Probably up there with Aer Lingus serving draft Guinness on tap on their flights...

Haven't seen that but I have heard of pints of wine being available. And of course there's always Buckfast - "Commotion Lotion", "Wreck the Hoose Juice".
