Without going over very old ground, they have no desire to improve themselves unless they have too. Anyhow, the government could give a s**t about people bettering themselves and certainly even less of a s**t about making such things available to people.

You do realise that wouldn't work though, and that in truth, the problem of being employable is largely geographic for most people (and in fact most people who are unemployed can't afford to make themselves more employable). Who decides who isn't 'pulling their weight' and who decides the criteria by which someone is not 'sufficiently improving themselves' and would you trust any British government of the last 40 years to not abuse this.

Precisely I am glad you agree, people are being paid to much in benefits. So there is no incentive to improve themselves and work for a living.

So you don't believe their is such a thing as British values then? And if so, in which case, our refusal to take in more (supposedly child) refugees cannot be a contravention or something that doesn't, in your eyes, exist. Can't have it both ways.

I do believe that there is a perception of what British Values are. My point was that many, if not all of the values would resonate with people around the world. Or are you suggesting we possess particular values exclusively?
