And....there's a reason why the sections are separately labelled 'Palace Talk', 'General Talk' and so on.

It's not just a football forum Dan. So he's not 'mixing' sport and policies is he. If he was speaking about this stuff on 'Palace Talk' then yeah.....and you know what...people would correctly direct him to 'General Talk'.....as this is the appropriate place to talk politics.

Whether you're deliberately missing my point or not I don't have the time or inclination to argue with tedious little men on the internet (in the correct forum of course).

Are you totally unhinged these days?

Sport and politics don't mix you said. Does it not go both ways then in Hrolfsweirdworldofwisdom?

I do not view the players on one knee as a 'left wing group'. Personally I found that the players, managers and owners in the NFL had the right approach.

When I saw many players on one knee, some standing with arms intertwined and in one case, a sole team member standing with his hand on his heart during the anthem I saw a group of people standing up for that they believe in in their own way, but still very much on the same side. They all defended each other during interviews. That's that it means to be a team. Differing views but respect shown.

It's a far cry from 'sons of bitches' or'shot in the head', but of course some have walked so far down a certain path that they have basically severed the connection to people and opinion in favour of the comfort of their politics.

You are exibiting bias in this instance and ignoring my point entirely.

Trump is the President. He can say what he likes if he considers it appropriate because he is an elected politician.
Freedom of speech is a privilege that should not be abused by those who just happen to have mass exposure. Everyone is entitled to voice an opinion but not to take advantage of their position for political gain.

For f*** sake Kermy. Thatcher was the PM, not a goalkeeper.

Frankly that's rubbish. Don't speak for others.

First you take the time you tell me that I believe 'words are violence' and that you're 'quite sure I said it' even though I didn't, so it's fine to 'speak for others' with your own fantasyland comments. Now when I post:

"Unfortunately many of those who claim to be interested in 'freedom or speech or expression' aren't in the slightest. They are interested in what they perceive to be 'their freedoms' being taken away and not one bit about a structure that contained views and forms of expression that they both agree and disagree with."

which is self evident true by the way, suddenly I'm 'talking rubbish' and 'don't speak for others'. My god, you want to tell black players when is appropriate for them to protest - no such requirement stated by you in charlottesville ironically, i'm 'quite sure' of that - and now people are chastised and told not to say certain things.

'Don't speak for others'? Give me strength. If I want to state an opinion I'll state it. You keep your faux freedom of speech and expression outlook and I'll actually defend the real thing across the board.

So let me get this straight: You are inferring that politics and sport do mix but sport and politics don't.

Ok. Odd but interesting. I'll need to think that one through.

No.
I'm saying that elected politicians can deal in politics where as sportsmen shouldn't. It's not hard mate. Politicians making political gain from subjects that involve sport is not the same as sportsmen being political.

If they want to, get elected like Seb Coe did.

The fact that these millionaires may do charity work is also of little consequence to the argument made.

Meanwhile, Milo's charity work for children absolves his support of pederasty.

If people have a view they can express it. You arbitrarily deciding that they shouldn't holds about as much weight as telling some random bloke on the street that he's not entitled to share his opinion.

If anyone, with the mess of politicians we have, we should be pleased when anyone gets involved politically.

It was just to start a conversation that they have an issue. So they have achieved the goal. Everyone is talking about it and hopefully it makes a change or at least highlight that a change needs to be made.

Perhaps its not the best way to go about things and maybe they feel they need to.

Michael Bennett certainly believes they have an issue after being held down by the police in Vegas for what appears no more than being Black and in the wrong place. He's one of these high paid millionaires that from the sounds of it should just entertain us and shut up.

Well, Police body cams and all that.....Whatever the rights and wrongs of these situations can be hopefully solved via that.
