It's been a constant for Biden. I personally couldn't believe it when he completely copied Kinnock's miner speech. Absolutely mind-boggling, shocking and a complete fraud. It's not even a joke.

Do you seriously think anyone in Biden’s position writes their own speeches?

That was a failure by a speechwriter that probably lost him a job.

The criticism goes to whoever on his staff employed that speechwriter and the checking procedures that were done before it was made.

Biden remembering more things that never happened.

I know....it's clown world without even bothering to put on the make up.

You are making claims with zero evidence.....that's most unexpected considering your sales and marketing background.

Regardless, the person with sole responsibility is Biden.

It wasn't true whoever wrote the speech

Biden’s great-grandfather, Edward Blewitt, went to college and became a civil and mining engineer, and eventually a state senator,

So blame it on the speech writer eh?

A mistake from a speech writer would be "The economy grew by (wrong number)" in other words commenting on a political point I don't expect every politician to know every fact about their policy.

However Biden gave a very personal story if the speech writer had made it up why on earth did Biden not point this out or is Joe like Ron Burgundy in Anchorman who just reads what is put in front of him.

This story if made up is an insult on several levels.

Americans take military honour very seriously so in front of a group of veterans he lied. Now he dishonoured those brave men and women in that room and all those who had won purple hearts, he also dishonoured his own uncle.

There is no evidence that his now dead uncle claimed to have won a purple heart but that did not mean that his uncle did not serve with honour or distinguish.

But you keep making excuses, maybe you should join Biden's speech writing team.

Have you looked into it at all? This isn't right wing media - you can check BBC or the Guardian if you like. My link is the far right ITV news. It's been a constant issue with Biden throughout his entire career. Plagiarism, lies and errors have been at every stage of Biden's career. I take your point about speech writers, I thought about that myself. Presumably, should they have been to blame, he would have sacked them in the 80s.
Are you comfortable with a President who just reads speeches verbatim without even caring or checking what's in them? It's ridiculous. Only a Henson muppet would do that.

I was vaguely aware of this.

In a weird, oxymoronic fashion, there's almost some honesty in the things Trump supposedly lied about, as in that's surely part of his personality/self?

With Biden I see it as far more sinister and nefarious. I don't even believe it's him that is 'lying', he's merely the mouthpiece, the puppet on stage, and the American people must surely be offended by such obvious, deliberate, calculated and unapologetic insults to their intelligence and the charade of a 'democratic government'?

I might as well go over there, speak of how I abolished slavery, started all the great American industries, piloted the Apollo 11 mission, won numerous Olympic Gold's, 17 Nobel peace prizes and bake the greatest apple pie ever known to man. If they want a fantasy I am sure I could deliver a far more grandiose one!

Unfortunately, even the Americans wouldn't believe that Crystal Palace ever won anything.

No lies are honest. Some though can be white, ie told for good intentions, others for matters of national security and some to provoke a reaction. Trump would have been forgiven for any of them but his lying is on a different scale to anything we have ever seen before by a POTUS. He doesn’t recognise the truth from his opinion. If he believes something, then that’s the truth. That and his impetuous, bullying nature is what made him so dangerous. It’s also why Biden’s job was done once he defeated Trump. The organs of state could then operate normally again, experts listened to and advice heeded.

You carry on with your Biden bashing. It’s unimportant but if it amuses you then at least it keeps you occupied. It’s sad that we see it here because it’s a construct of that section of the US right who are still trying to paint Trump as no worse than Biden. That there is a significant minority in the USA who still think like that is obvious, even if now in rapid decline, it is unfortunate to see it here. We are better than that. Or most of us are! Not many though get their “information” from the likes of Nick Fuentes.

I saw the story but paid no attention to it. It’s careless but these things happen. Every politician gets flack for something.

As I have repeatedly said here I am no special fan of Biden. My only wish in 2020 was to ensure there wasn’t a second Trump term. The first was awful but the consequences of a second unthinkable. Anyone else was preferable but what we got was a seasoned professional who knows how to listen and take ad vice from a thoughtfully assembled team.

Public speaking is not his strength. So what?

He’ll be gone in 2 years. What’s much more important is what follows.

I have nothing in common with Trump.

I hold strong opinions and express them forcefully but know they are just opinions. Trump doesn’t.

I am not a bully. I don’t act like a mob boss. I loath sacking people. I live modestly. I abide by the law and pay my taxes.
