What would be intelligent immigration policies?

In my view we need to be....as Cameron originally promised, reducing immigration down to the tens of thousands...well, even a reverse is needed, for a time, to be frank. Demographically, we need less religious people in general. Of the religious people we take, more Jews, Christians and and less Muslims. Of the secular people we take we need more secular Jews and non religious Asians....In fact, I'm happy to take non criminal secular people of any description if they fulfill a need here and have commitment. There has been continuous net emigration of British citizens since at least 1991. This isn't good. It's an implicit criticism that this country has had a slide in the quality of life it offers across the board, in my view. I've attached an image showing the migration/emigration flow for Britain from 90 to 2016. It shows the dramatic affect that EU enlargement had on the country....a decision so impacting on so many areas that it was almost criminal to have allowed. I see that as less realistic than limiting the type of immigrant to those that are statistically more beneficial.
