Of course, Putin had nothing to do with this, that must be obvious to every fair-minded person. Putin is a strong, but trustworthy, leader who we are foolish not to do deals with. Deals he would always respect and honour and never take them as a sign of weakness to be exploited. Putin doesn't fear opponents. He just kills them.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

Yep, I've just seen this. Shocking. The man stood up for his beliefs and paid the ultimate price. You're right Hrolf, he was a very brave man. Similar theme, I watched a film last night - ICON, based on a Frederick Forsyth book. An oligarch aiming to become President of Russia. Scarily reminiscent of what's going on with Putin.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

There should be questions raised about this and I agree with the criticisms of the Putin regime in regards to political opponents...just as I do with Ukraine. No one gave a feck about Gonzalo Lira dying in Ukrainian captivity did they..

Regarding Mr. Lira, nor should they as they are false equivalents. The man was a criminal antisemitic grifter beautified by the pro russian's as a 'journalist'. While any form of state violence would be reprehensible, a 55 year old chain smoker dying of pneumonia doesnt quite have the same level of smoking gun foul play vs a man getting nerve gassed on a plane.

Normally I ignore you but as this is about someone's death so here I won't let you put out this statement without reply. You come on here and present claims from Ukraine as facts and then smear someone who died in Ukrainian captivity because you didn't like their personality. Sorry but you don't get to present claims as facts. He was a journalist and the how and the why and circumstances of why he died is....as with this Russian...purely reliant upon information coming from the authority responsible for his safety. There is an obvious conflict of interest with both of them and questions and criticisms in both circumstances are valid. You however are.......Well, I'll let others judge.
