Nuno is quite the coup & if we can pull that off id be very happy.

I would rank pretty much every manager were linked with higher than Howe who is a bit of a melt.

Outsiders but people I would consider.

Ralf Rangnick
Paulo Fonseca
Andre Villas Boas (Linked with Wolves)
Jose Mourinho
Patrick Viera

Seems to be a lot of quality Portuguese Managers about at the minute.

Got a funny feeling an announcement is imminent. It has to be soon as the transfer window opens next week I believe and the new manager is going to have a lot of work to do so we can’t waste any time but knowing Palace we probably will.

It should be this week. But what if it isn’t? What does it say about the club, and its approach to next season?
Surely Hodgsons , leaving didn’t come as a bolt out of the blue. And an alternative put more or less in place. Surely 11/15 players out of contact , and not addressed by June, with a transfer window opening, is not thought to contain the ingredients for a massive balls up. As things stand the club is acting more like a fourth tier outfit than a Premier, team on the point of turning round that amount of players, with just about anyone on the manager merry go round likely to turn up some time soon.
I have a funny feeling about all of this, I can only hope it’s washed away this week.

The thing is, people are most hostile to Cooper & Ismaël, especially Cooper. But they’re probably the most suitable candidates were linked with. For all the vitriol, they’ve actually done very well in their careers up until this point. And they’re much more likely to be candidates who work with the players as part of a wider project.

Nuno is a glamorous appointment. But there are so many strings attached with appointing him. And the minute we don’t bow down to his demands, he’ll be off.
