Ultimately the board are to blame. Look at our bench and think who you bring on to change a game. There are virtually no options. Vieira is left with about 15-16 players to choose from. They become undroppable however bad they perform as a result. Those who say we need a manager who will motivate players. I’m not sure we have the right type of players for that. Where are the leaders? We have a few skilful types who are lazy. Great when it’s going good, not so much when it isn’t. And we have a few who just shouldn’t be in a premier league team anymore. Sack the manager? It goes deeper than that. We are just going to have to see it out. Problems lie with Parish and the lack of investment.

So if, as many on here are saying, PV totally lacks any ideas for inspiring better play from the players he has, and also lacks tactical nous to cover their weaknesses in play, then exactly what is the point of that supposedly Welsh wunderkind Osian Roberts?

I've said it before, Vieira doesn't know his best side within the limitations you set out. The constant swapping of players for positions they're not suited for bears this out. Up front? Try Zaha central this week. Or maybe try Mateta. Tried Eduoard? Try Eze on the left or maybe Schlupp. Don't play a player who is suited to a role but shoehorn one of your favourites instead. And on it goes. Keep fiddling with the puzzle pieces and maybe, just maybe, the full picture will emerge. Fact is Vieira has had a whole season to know the team but he's still tinkering.

A year ago today we beat a good wolves side 2-0 away from home, the first was genuinely the best I’ve seen us play away from home , I’ve just looked at the lineup and it was this Guaita Schlupp Olise We also were able to bring on benteke in second half to see it out hold the ball up. What’s changed ? Obviously Gallagher however, kouyate thinking back was such a strong prescense in that midfield and allowed the forward players freedom as he done slot of dirty work , also very versatile I remember he done good job at centre back under Roy.

Do you think Ahamada was what was needed in the last window, we have two very promising young midfielders in Phillips and Ozoh, and do think Lokonga is any better than Hughes, wouldnt the purchase and loan have been better used on a CF or 2

If we are losing and Olise, Ayew and Eze aren’t working. Who do we bring on from the bench. All our attacking youngsters are out on loan and most sat on the bench (Ebiowei, Plange,). We don’t have the tools. Is Vieira faultless. No. Is he totally to blame. No. He will be the scapegoat and get the sack as the fans want change. But really we should be protesting about the lack of first team investment. Others have gone forward, we have gone backwards. Originally posted by southnorwoodhill

In Spain when supporters want the manager relieved of his duties, they wave white handkerchiefs in the air in unison, it is an imposing sight and invariably they get their wish. Bring your Kleenex tissues to the Man C game !!

The problem is with the Premier League and the corrupt billionaire's playground it's become. How can a club which doesn't have billions compete with Middle East sovereign wealth funds who are using the PL for their own purposes? The direction of travel for Parish and the board is I believe correct. Develop our own youth academy, and attract the best and brightest players from the U.K. and beyond. Hopefully a few of them will shine brightly and become established first team players. This worked brilliantly with Zaha and pretty well with Clyne. I feel sorry for Mitchell. Other teams are targeting him and badly needs a rest out of the firing line. But there are no experienced LBs to come in to take his place. There are some very good young LBs at Palace in the Academy, but nowhere near ready for the PL.

Good question Lanzo. I think we needed two central midfielders and one more forward. Also think ideally we needed them last summer. Another left back would have been great as well. Originally posted by Lanzo-Ad
