Was never a big Coppell fan because of the hoof ball tactics and refusal to play Dave Madden quite a bit though obviously recognise the magnificent achievements.

Favourite is Venables 77-79.

Initially I thought my choice would be a no brainer with Steve Coppell being streets ahead of anyone, however on reflection I'm not that sure.
Big Mal took us to another level with regard to being a more fashionable club and raising our profile.
Obviously Bert Head has to be in contention for taking us to the top flight for the first time.
But looking back over the many years that I've supported the Club the one that had the major effect on me was Arthur Rowe. His *push & run* was a whole new style of football that we hadn't ever seen the like off at Selhurst and it certainly brought the best out of Johnny Byrne. & Co.
Although it wasn't such a results only lead game at that time, so maybe he wasn't under the same pressure as his modem day counterparts, nevertheless he was a great innovative coach who had us playing some of the most stylish football I have ever witnessed at Selhurst.

Steve Coppell for me.

I was a big fan of him as a player. Fantasic winger and even though it's probably changed now, it's not that long ago he was voted by Man Utd fans their best ever right winger.

When I moved to London I started to watch Palace partly because they were the local team but largely because he was the manager.

the dignified don't even enter in the game

Stevie C = 3rd in 1st division Fa cup final,Zds final,play off final 96.

Terry V = pipping the Weed to the title in 79 and giving us the team of the 80's even tho it wasnt around long!

Dougie for being Palace thro and thro and for saving us at Stockport and keeping us up 2 years ago and for sticking by us not to mention paying monies to the club out of his own pocket when he was at Wolves.
