This case looks like a text book definition of racist terrorism. He sought to spread fear and start a race war.

But in this case I guess he was motivated by racist/political ideas, so perhaps terrorism. Having said that, he is probably nuts as well.

Riots by their very nature don't strike me as being particularly calculated, except, perhaps, by an organizer. This man had a clear political object, he acted unlawfully to spread terror and it was for an ideological purpose, judging from him own statements as they have been reported. He might well also be a nutter, but that does not stop the rest being true, as long as he understood what he was doing.

You did not make clear the unlawful piece in your post. Whether or not you agree, states using their armed forces during a conflict would have to really work hard to be terrorists. A nation state's armed forces are by their nature lawful implements of force, even if a conflict might in of itself be unlawful or the way in which they behave is. That is a well established part of international law going back to 1648. That does not mean states cannot use terrorism, many do. They employ unlawful violence through a non lawful armed force of some kind. SOE planting bombs during WWII was terrorism plain and simple. The Soviets sponsoring violent left wing extremists during the Cold War is another example of a state sponsoring terrorism. That is so, even if the state itself does not directly use the methodology itself. As for your remark about me, I happen to be living several hours behind, and I have been at work all day. Even if I bought what he was selling, the logic still does not work. There is no cause and effect. If you are curious, look up the political history of the NRA. The 2nd Amendment argument is really quite a recent one and regulation was far more broadly accepted until the 1960s.

I hope the cnut gets the electric chair i'm glad he was caught as now hopefully he will suffer in prison before been put to sleep. my heart goes out to all who lost loved ones.

They've been talking about changing the gun law there for years. And i bet even arfter this nothing gets done despite Obama saying he will review the gun laws.
