What we are living through almost has a horrific beauty to it.

All that stuff about the Deep State is real. Democracy truly is nothing more than an illusion now. Yes, our votes count for silly things but ultimately, when we vote in a way that the Deep State does not approve of, we arrive where we are today.

May has destroyed her own political party. Utterly kicked the legs of her own party from beneath it. It is effectively finished now, for at least a decade.

And all in less than 48 hours. This is real history. A real turning point moment in the history of the United Kingdom. Effectively, we are over as a sovereign state.

As I understand it Hammond is about to appear on the TV pushing the benefits of a confirmatory referendum.

Brexit is over. Done.

In an odd sort of way it is a relief. My rage has been murderous. And I mean that literally. But that has passed. This feeling of utter powerlessness, of knowing that everything I was bought up to believe in about the importance of voting, of how democracy was worth upholding, why it was important to wear a poppy, to stand in 2 minutes silence because of the sacrifices made to ensure that we lived in a democracy is actually all worthless has a certain liberation to it.

The nation state as a specific political entity is now dead, at least in our part of the world. I will retain a British passport solely because it serves a purpose but ultimately I see no way forward outside of fully blown civil war.

Perhaps that might still be an option? I have made enough noises about it so who knows? Outside of the Queen calling for a popular uprising, with the backing of the Military or the Police, is there any mileage in that?

But what is not up for debate is that my vote, along with that of over 17 million other British people, is deemed of almost no relevance. We saw that tonight. Labour lied to us and the Tories lied to us. At least the Lib-Dems and the SNP made no bones about their desire to ignore us. Kudos to them for that.

Oddly enough I feel a kind of sympathy for all those t***s who went on the Remain rallies. They get to keep their beloved 'European Citizen' status but ultimately it is all a bit farcical really. Real soft-focus, life as a sickly coca-cola advert kinda thing. w***ers. Every single one of them. But in a pathetic kind of way.

I will happily spit in the face of any and every politician who betrayed us tonight. I will vote again but only ever for Brexit supporting parties. Not that it will mean much but f*** them. Make life as uncomfortable as possible for our political masters. Or at least that is what I will kid myself.

Who knows? Perhaps this will all turn out for the best but I have realised that I always thought of myself as being rather cynical but events of the last two days have made me realise how naive I truly have been. I genuinely felt that my vote on June 23rd meant something. LOL. More fool me.

LOL. Who knows? Chatter out there about 15 Cabinet ministers going to resign but so what if they do? May will not step down and has effectively handed over Brexit to Corbyn.

I suspect that the 15 would struggle to come up with a single spine between them but lets see. The single hope has to be that a GE is forced with the Tories becoming the effective Brexit party. But I am sick to death of getting my hopes up.

Democracy ended on March 29th at 23.00. I see little chance of it being resurrected again in my life time.

If we have learned 1 thing in the last 3 years, it is that "leave means leave" is empty and hollow rhetoric, a true fallacy.

It is not an implementable plan. It is hard to implement something, which has no clear pathway to becoming implementable, and no consensus thereon.

I am sorry but that is the bottom line. It is simply not implementable in the current form. If it was, it would have been implemented already.

The political system in the UK is unable to deal with a massively divisive issue which basically splits the country 50/50, give or take a few percentage points.

More foresight about Northern Ireland, no deal, what the EU might agree to influencing a less binary ballot paper, and it would have all been over so much earlier.

It was probably a bit like the Trump presidency, up until a few days before he definitely didnt think he would win.

After Farage, Johnson, Davis and Gove got this through, what did they do personally to actually deliver it?

Here is what I dont understand. People who want Brexit, who believe in it, who truly think it is better than being in the EU, why not agree to a second vote (you were correct about Hammond BTW).

There is an impasse in parliament. Given that indisputable fact, and that there simply is no majority anywhere for no deal (not in parliament, the lords, the public, anywhere), where else are you going to turn?

If you believe in Brexit, and want it to be delivered, then your only way forward is a second referendum where if a majority still agrees with you, you will get your wish!

When this farce of a second referendum comes about, we have to turn out in millions and spoil the ballot papers. And wear fake Prison tags on our ankles as we do so.
