Which is an illusion. Nobody works for free in the NHS, drugs or medial equipment are not given free of charge to the NHS. The cost of the NHS is massive and gets ever bigger yet we are told to be proud of it. Generally poor medical care largely paid for by the people that don't use it.

The Lib Dems have the advantage that those wishing to make a protest vote did not have the option of Change UK or The Brexit party. Green party has also done well for that reason.

As for Labour sitting on the fence hasn't worked and I think the next time Corbyn goes to Glastonbury they wont be singing "Oh Jeremy Corbyn" more like "You don't what you're doing".

You keep telling yourself that.

Everyone is spinning but the Liberal Party is the first choice protest vote for many people who can't bring themselves to vote Green, UKIP or independent.

In reality it's a subsidiary by which the wealthier pay for the poorer to gain access to healthcare they otherwise wouldn't have access to.

The better off can afford their own healthcare and simply don't need a single payer system. Yet they can't opt out.

I support it, but I don't paint it as something else.

One of the problems with the left is that they see how certain aspects of our society have already been socialised and they accept it as a given and just continually push for more.

The end result of socialism is communism. Socialism is simply a stepping stone as Marx suggested.

What's fair about health tourism, do you think the poor should pay towards that?

I'd agree that it contributes towards a fairer society but I just don't think that the first part of your sentence represents the reality.

What's fair about everone losing free healthcare over something that equates to 0.3% of the budget?

Looking forward to hearing the next set of things you're bringing to the table to give up. My money's on state pension

Break down how much people pay (are taxed) for the NHS as you look up the earning and tax scale and you’ll find you’re wrong. Very.

At some point up that earning scale you and your partner are paying for more than those in your house, and therefore the poor who can’t afford to.

As a nation I'd say that we are proud of the NHS, we don't need to be told to be. It's far from perfect and is always under strain but it's a safety net of sorts that everyone has access to and that counts for something. What exactly is the alternative?

When do we get a hold of the NHS and get our priorities right?

If you come back to Britain, which I bet you will, how content will you be that, at the age of 65-70 you have to wait years for a hip replacement, or no hip replacement at all, while the ‘free’ healthcare to those who’ve never or hardly contributed has been abused?

I might go and do my shopping this weekend without paying at the self service tills. Why not, I should eat like everyone else.
