Our best leverage in these negotiations is keeping a no deal on the table.

Neither side what's to be the one seen to initiate a no deal.

The EU does not want our MEPs to be sworn in as they fear we will create mayhem.

The EU now have no MP to negotiate with so will have to accept further delay or kick us out without a deal.

Should another PM call an general election, which is possibly required to get a deal through parliament then an even further delay would occur.

In my opinion this move have strengthened our barging position. The EU can give us a better deal to get rid of us or we will remain and cause mischief.

Yes that's the only show in town really. Without 'no deal' what tools do we have to negotiate anything new? Then again, No Deal is the eventual default anyway.

I definitely agree that they don't want a situation where Brexit Party members are playing havok, especially where's no intensive for them not to do so. So there may be a window of opportunity to improve the deal and get all EU members on board with it.

While this is going on, they'll be putting the feelers out regarding a general election too. If that went their way the deadlock would end. It may depend on whether the Brexit Party are placing in the polls though, and of course whatever the maze-like Labour manifesto says about their EU stance that week.

............that the EU will be screwed without us. A little known fact never mentioned by the MSM for some reason?
'The Bloc' is financially screwed. Draghi 'n' Co know this, have a lot to answer for, but will never admit their position.
The globalist agenda that has continually robbed many within the EU while continually pandering to the corporations needs to be stopped. Period.

If elected, Johnson says we are leaving in October, deal or no deal.

Can we have our Garden Bridge money back first?

Mine too. A fantastic idea.
But once again our funds seem to have gone to 'money heaven'?
I like Boris as he'll at least bring some fun into a position that ultimately continues to rob us all.

Which confirms he is nuts because it would not be in his hands would it?

Parliament as a whole is now in control of the process and the current Parliament will not allow no deal to pass whatever any Tory PM may want. The only alternative is to elect a new Parliament and the make up of that is as yet an open book.

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

Which is why your/our vote is continually pointless.

True....the face changes and the presentation might be more enjoyable....but essentially, when it comes to the financial....the system stays the same.

Unless the Parliament votes for a deal then a 'no deal' is the de facto result.

If Johnson doesn't like the way things are going perhaps he will call that general election.

I don't know.....I guess we are all going to see....like I say, get the popcorn in.

The brexit party won’t have any impact in a general election.
Labour wont be successful, there lack of commitment on brexit has pissed of their voters in the north, wales and the south. Momentum have put off even more of there voters. May gave them the chance to help deliver brexit and they didn’t. They voted against all but one option to leave. They could have easily pushed a deal through and failed.

A Troy party lead by a leave campaigner is still the most likely option to win a majority than any other option. If they don’t win a majority we’d be back to the current post EU election where they still want to kick us out.

Quick question for leave voters. If the EU was to undergo major reform, Such as defining its own remit, would you consider changing your vote in a second referendum?

I suspect that eventually the EU will break up and I see the UK joining a northern EU with Germany, France and perhaps a few others.....One far less political.
