I'd rather take the splinters and look down on the dross peddling from on high than jump into the s***ty mire of either sides relentlessly partisan anger and endless despair.

That made me chuckle. You make a good point, but I'm sure the history books will also contain some of the more stand out moments of dynamic leadership shown during this rocky period. Case in point [Link]

Tory majority gone I hear.

Poor man so distressed he joined the lib-dems.

Ar his first photo-session now in the new 'bollox' T-shirt.

Not sure about this, Lib Dems got 7.5% of the vote at the last election, Bracknell voted leave, and his party passed a vote of no confidence in June. So should set up a by election in my view.

Really can't see the EU bothering with Johnston now he have no majority in parliament, how could he get anything through anyway.

He was really on the ropes there, mumbling incoherently to well directed questions.

What a difference a day makes.

Hasn't learnt a thing, still bullying Tory MPs who will only desert him.

Freedom of movement.....which is essentially control of our borders.
Control of our laws that limit what government ministers can do.
Hegemony of UK law passing to European law.

The whole backstop is just a EU tactic and lie to stop us making trade deals outside of the EU.....and I suspect you're well aware of that.

Non sequitur. You said 'the way the EU has behaved wouldn't have helped the remain side'. So how has it behaved during the past three years, what 'won't have helped'?

People on both sides of the border are more than deeply concerned about a return to troubles if the backstop goes.

Please respond to my point that it was those who went through wars that voted to be a part of the European project - in full knowledge of what that meant. It is a bunch of people who missed out on the wars but have rose tinted spectacles that think we need to get into a position to 'fight our own corner' etc. etc. They have no clue and in any case they are setting up others to do the fighting, others that simply don't want to as they recognise foolishness when they see it.

Did Bracknell vote to leave without a deal?

Does't make much difference based on how he was going to vote.

That generation voted for a trading block. You seem to be ignoring all the commitments that sovereignty wouldn't be given away which were given.

It's wrong of you to suggest that what people voted for then was done in the expectation of what it is now.

Its lost 13% of its population, and 17% of its GDP. One of its members is having riots over petrol prices, one has had an illegal vote to split the country, at least two are flat broke.... it's done nothing. Needs to reform if it wants the UK to remain.

Now where else could that apply?

Nicely put.

Look I'm not against another referendum at some point....As happened last time perhaps.

With a 51.9-48.1 result I think that's valid.

However, let's implement the result of the first one before that.
