Trump puts EU ahead of Britain in trade queue

Not a single named source, not a single verifiable fact from the pro-EU Times

Let's ask assistant to Trump and director of the White House National Trade Council Peter Navarro shall we?

"Good news". To you, and the anti-brexit press contingent you gorge yourself on, this is "good news" as anything that will disadvantage this country in the face of leaving a leeching, corrupt, power-grabbing political experiment is to be venerated and celebrated. You are pathetic, and yes, you now-minority remainiac rump are unpatriotic.

So, OK. Let's assume Mr "unnamed source conveniently dropping a politically inopportune bombshell on the first weekend press-cycle after a snap election was called based almost entirely on Brexit" is correct, and Paul Ryan and Peter Navarro are incorrect.

What changes? What is our current trading arrangement with the US? Exactly as it is when we leave. Nothing changes.

Next question:
What is the average bilateral trade agreement timescale for the US, as compared to multilateral with the EU?

Next question:
Is the largest economy in the world only capable of conducting trade negotiations with one entity at a time? How many trade negotiations is the US currently engaged in?

Pathetic, remainiacs. Just pathetic.

Lefty blog alert but don't shoot the messenger argue the message.

Read it....Man oh man Nick you do read some very one eyed stuff.

Do you subscribe to anyone balanced in the middle at all?

I regard most of what he was saying as half truths. I've experienced enough left wing people in life to know exactly what the truth is in this regard.

I do think this story is trite.

It may be that the President is inclined towards the EU as it is a power bloc and the UK is in a position umknown but he does not mean to slight us, its just his job.

We trade ok with them as you say why change it - a trade deal will really screw things up.

Are you saying I'm unpatriotic? What other posters do you think are unpatriotic because they have left wing views.

Anyone who delights in the prospect of our country failing or suffering, so that it vindicates their views, is unpatriotic in my view.

The glee with which you regurgitate any bilge suggesting the UK is on the wrong path puts you fairly high up the list. I'm all for reporting the downsides of a situation, incidentally, but you are a sucker for sensationalist news-lite.

Dont get me wrong. I want it to go well. We're still in the realms of conjecture so everything is speculation still. But, and it is to my dismay, I'm not filled with much hope. I hope I'm proved wrong.

Hitler, Franco and Oswald Mosley would all have called you unpatriotic..which perhaps sums up the credibility to be given to such sentiments

Oswald Mosley:"If you love our country you are national, and if you love our people you are a socialist.".Take the two together and you are a...

Hitler: "If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed."...

But in your words leaving the EU is the best thing that has ever happened so the UK cannot be failing or suffering can it?

Unless you know that it is going to fail or suffer but you cannot bear to face reality.

I love my country so much that I keep voting for the party that is selling our country piece by piece to foreigners. It's taking back control. I won't moan about the amount of empty houses belonging to foreign billionaires because I vote for the people that allow it to happen.
