Been doing a bit of digging (unlike Parish) and have found that there are zero planning applications in at the moment and the training ground? Well, blimey...this is all that has been done it appears since 2010 Demolition of various single storey office and associated buildings and erection of a new two storey extension to the existing main pavillion building, together with the rationalisation and enlargement of the parking areas.
Well researched and just about says it all really, as far as infrastructure goes. We should be grateful for the cladding and the plastic seats I suppose.

I don't think he or the other shareholders can be confident pressing ahead when we're in a precarious position each season from the very start. Sort that and then maybe it'll happen. That's an observation rather than a criticism. A lot depends on money and league status. I doubt they'd embark on anything if there's a squad rebuilding exercise following relegation and no good wasting money on dipping your toe into redeveloping. You either agree a deal with sainsburys and hire those expensive architects and finish the stand or you don't start. Hopefully it'll happen but I don't see anything happening before next summer because whatever happens this season there's a big job in the summer where I hope Freedman has researched well for players.

For a few seasons it was unfortunate emergencies it would be unfair to point any blame, although a lack of scouting has no doubt inflated our wages and fees. 9th in the league and only there if the best 11 play tells the story.

I certainly wouldn't say it's BS in order to placate..clearly engaging Architects etc would be redundant otherwise. However, as we all know esp with the resistance that even mentioning moving back to CPP caused, getting things through planning is a nightmare. Haven't the club recently appointed an individual to now focus on this stuff? Perhaps the real issue for the apparent procrastination is simply down to SP trying to spin too many plates? Now he's passed this work onto someone else we may see some movement...but again I wouldn't necessarily want to hear of anything happening until they're ready to go to planning anyway...

Having said that, take the potential move to a new training ground for a moment, consider what might be involved in getting any proposal ready for planning. You'd need environmental studies to be carried out, on the ground liaison with locals to take into account their considerations, then you have the councils issues with using 'potentially' green belt/space in their Borough for private use....etc etc etc and all the time trying to do so under the 'radar' so as not to be faced being a hostage when the owner of said land gets to hear of the intended use and ups their price....and we're not exactly blessed with sites in and around the borough as it is. It must be a bloody nightmare

We're in this position due to the way that Jordan dealt with Kent CCC who could've been persuaded to let us have the land they now occupy beside our existing training ground (almost twice as large again than what we curr have)...perhaps we could foster better relationships with them with a view to this being a possibility ? Who knows. We seem willing to spend £30m on shyte left backs rather than £30m on the clubs future...which hopefully would mean a reduction in exorbitant fees...but until the club bites the bullet it's all pie in the sky

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium plans' by bexleydave Unfortunately I am seeing a worrying similarity between our efforts to improve the stadium and those to improve the team. A bit of cladding, a lick of paint, a quick fix to cover the cracks. A last minute rush job by an expensive PL master builder to stop us crumbling away. We need to invest in long term foundations if we are ever to improve on and off the pitch.
