I'd be looking at Bony, Hernandez (Hull are a car crash, why not?) and Babacar.

I'll get slated for this. But for an impact sub who'd be direct and have pace and power (not necessarily bundles of goals) I'd see if Cam Jam was available to return but only as a back up to whoever else we buy.

Scored 7 or so goals in pre season. Had some strife with some of their fans but can't see him moving.

loads of great suggestions, take the risk on a couple, maybe one with Prem expereince, one without

Lets hope we've moved on from the problem ones and grasping those that are definitely looking to move or be offloaded.

I think we need a stopgap. We were thinking, change the strategy from move in late, pick up value: instead bid early, bid high. Unfortunately our last half season dip is frightening off the £30m plus bracket. Benteke had a narrow escape from Aston Villa and doesn't want to risk it with us. We need a striker who will do just enough for us in 2016/17 to keep us solidly out of trouble, and then we start to 'tap up' the Benteke equivalent for 2017/18.
Our stopgap should have premier league experience, a cool head to take chances, good injury record, and most of all should be an honest player who believes in putting in a shift for whoever is paying his wages. It will, though, inevitably someone on their way down, who's value will depreciate.
For me, Peter Crouch fits this description. But other names may also meet the criteria (Dempsey?). Ballot ellis does not.

Slimani, Babacar, Campbell and Ulloa. Any two will do nicely.

Assombalonga as i think he'll become a 1 in almost 2 PL striker one day, and Shane Long. (CamJam with a few more goals and technique.) Think they could all play alone or in a pair and they would all have a very good chance of being the top dog if they worked hard and avoided injury.

Even better, with both of them we could go 'long', arf

Assombalonga may well be a better bet than a prem bench warmer. Is he any better than Gayle though?

Glad to see several suggesting Bony. I'd be more than happy if we could rescue him from City. I could see him fitting in better than Benteke and costing us less.

Ings or Long IMO these are realistic, and long suits our one up top style of play perfectly.
