I'd take Bony at £20m over Benteke at £32m!
I think the other incoming striker is very likely to be a loan now- James Wilson from United please! Let's say we do get Bony for £15m and Wilson in on loan. That realistically leaves us with £12-£15m (if we're talking about CB costing £32m+) to spend on a number 10. Three players for roughly the same transfer fee as one- has to make more sense, surely?!

Things are hotting up now as squad numbers are announced

Are we feeling more positive again?

Predictions?
Lukaku to stay
Berhino to stay
Remy to move across with Stones
Slimani to Arsenal
Mitrovic to China
Bony to Palace!

Not really as Campbell has been given the number 9 shirt....doesn't bode well.

I would prefer a realistic striker - even an actual one - to one that is completely made up or invented. I hope our management/ ownership would too but who knows.

Assombalonga may well be a better bet than a prem bench warmer. Is he any better than Gayle though?

I reckon yeah.

I dont think we were ever seriously in for any of these strikers. I think AP has convinced himself that Yannick is a striker so the only one coming in will probably be a young loanee. As soon as Connor has his first niggle we will be up the creek

I'm worried he thinks Campbell is a striker

Two young hungry player's looking to get their careers back on track after long term injuries jay Rodriguez (saints) and Brit Asombalonga would be my two prioriy strikers. I would also love to see Danny Ings in our team - all 3 are good in the air (especially Rodriguez), have excelent hold up play and can attack at pace - key attributes needed to slot into our system if Connor is injured.

Is it a game of how many injured strikers you can get in one squad?

Rodriguez is an excellent idea, as the second striker to come in. We would still need Benteke/Berahino/Sakho/Slimani
