Have we tried playing Speroni up front at all? He might lack pace these days but I reckon he could hold a ball up and he knows how to welly it. That way all the nostalgics here would be happy too. Ok, maybe I am being a bit cheeky, but he'd probably beat Adebayor's goal tally.

Edin dzeko from roma , like benteke a useful target man, Dzeko the only name on this thread I've got excited about so far. Quality striker who knows where the back of the net is. Good in the air too and arrives at the right time in the box. Worth an investment IMO as Benteke and Berahino appear to be not happening.
