Just to clarify, I certainly don't take an alternative viewpoint just to be controversial nor to seek attention.I just give my honest opinion which of course is at variance with many from time to time.

Regards the Lukaku incident I can forgive both Moss and the Assistant for not noticing that there was no contact as it really looked in real-time that there had been some contact. These people are only human after all.

Even though Hackett ( ex referees chief) says he should retire.
You are behond help Trolly.

always a Norwood boy, where ever I live.

Are you suggesting Manager challenges could be made maybe 5 mins later (During next break in play) after which a goal could have been scored ?

Don't be obtuse. The managers are standing right beside the 4th official, who is in constant radio contact with the referee. It would take but a second for them to ask for a review.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

Perhaps he was working on the adage that "two wrongs make a right"? Either that or both he & the lino are both inept.

There were three big decisions to be made in the game, and they got two of them wrong. The two wrong'uns are, of course, not signalling/enforcing an indirect free kick after ruling a high boot by Damo (which was questionable itself) and the Damo/McArthur offside for our 2nd goal.

The one they got right was not award a penalty against Damo after he brought down someone (can't remember who) in the box, when that player was only behind Damo because he'd started from an offside position. I had my heart in my mouth because I thought he would give it. (For the record, that was the same lino who chalked off our 2nd goal).

1 out of 3 is not good. I understand the complications around the offside, but allowing Everton a direct free kick - in that location - was an appalling failure to apply a simple rule. The 2 incorrect decision was a net -2 goals for Palace, which is not something a team can overcome with play on the pitch.

The thing is if Moss made a mistake then so did our players none of them questioned a direct free kick at the time. Both of the decisions were wrong but understandable so as they were very close calls. The booking were all deserved, players must learn if they want to dispute a decision be respectful about it.

This is simply victim-blaming. The players have other things to think about when there's a free kick awarded against them right outside their own penalty area. The referee has one job: apply the rules correctly.

has Willo given his explanation as to what (if anything did) went wrong with this decision?

surely if Dammo had've connected with his head it wouldve been noticed?

If Damo had connected with his head, he would have - quite rightly - been sent to the showers.

Ray
With respect I was responding to a poster who suggested a 'Challenge' after the next break in play hence my retort.

And maybe the players are NOT that 'Aux Faix' with the law surrounding the incident in question !

.

Well Hackett is consistent in his opinion that the standard of PL refereeing is not up to scratch. That is his opinion and many other referees and former referees might disagree.

He also said :
Prem refs earn an average of £70,000 per year but Hackett suggested: “The minimum amount they should earn is £250,000 per season.

“Mark Clattenburg, Martin Atkinson, Craig Pawson, Michael Oliver and Mike Dean — despite the odd critical comment — these guys are underpaid and are getting left behind.

Well obviously Hackett obviously thinks the referees he named are doing a "Decent job".
