I do not rely on the NHS.... I have BUPA cover thank you very much.... and before you ask... no I don't get sickness or unemployment benefit either. I was an IFA I retired at age 50 and I am financially secure due to prudent financial planning. Please don't make assumptions about my personal circumstances to strengthen your arguments and try to make me look silly. As for immigrants funding the NHS when they're younger... what about when they get older? All you are advocating is a pyramid scheme! I do blame politicians... in particular Tony Blair who adopted an open door policy for immigration and worsened a situation that was already fcuked.

I think people on the left are too quick to spend other peoples money on stuff that we can't afford. And the reason is that most of you have never worked for a company that has to generate profit to survive so you think money grows on trees. Teachers, Civil Servants and the like.... all cosy in your 9-5 jobs with pension benefits paid for by the private sector workers taxes.

No it is not easier. It is just a fact that more immigrants means more people for the NHS to deal with. Simple logic.The make up of NHS staff is due to under investment in British workers. The civil service, including the broader scope, represents society and its functionality on a daily basis. Much of which works to protect companies capacity to generate a profit. Its not always a cushy number either, especially outside of London, where most of the work will be council and court services Its not particularly well paid either, and the work can vary from tedious through to 'lives in the balance and heartbreaking'. I processed and administered domestic violence injunctions for 4.50 an hour. I also worked in crown and magistrates (which means I had to prep cases, which varied from stupid thefts through to child rape rings and sex offences.
Private sector is cushy if you ask me. 16 years, and I've not dealt with child abuse, rape, murder, kidnapping, protection orders, domestic violence victims etc.. Plus I don't get a civil service pension, despite having done three years.

I agree, we need to control migration. But its a symptom of the problem of how corporate entities operate in the UK, along with their responsibilities to the nation. We could of course have raised minimum wage to a reasonable level during the boom. Don't get me wrong New Labour carry a massive burden of responsibility for f**king the working class to please corporate and middle class England.

Well you can't compensate people who have died because of NHS incompetence or shortages. My experiences of the NHS recently has been bordering on comedy. It is becoming almost pointless to go to a GP and if you have to go to hospital for anything serious, chances are they will lose your test results. It beggars belief. Now I'm sure people get saved every day on operating tables but judging by my family experience, they are the lucky ones.
