A number two ( no not that number two) breakfast at the local cafe, egg bacon sausage mushrooms tomatoes two toast and coffee £5.45 lovely.

A cold lager after a days graft(not warm beer)

Was about to say exactly this. There's some world class lagers out there. You simply can't beat an Estrella with your tapas in Barcelona. Or a nice ice cold Moretti with a freshly made pasta laced in chilli and garlic. Same rules apply with a kingfisher in India with your firey hot curry.
I do also love ale.

I do also love ale.

M&S in Croydon have caught on to the market & now have a substantial range of lager & Ales.
A lot of German lagers from the Pauliner(spelling?) brewery-Munich gold @ 5.5% and some Italian ones at 6 & 7%.
Funny thing is, in my 20's I'd only touch Bitters, ales & stouts(anyone remember youngs winter warmer @ about 8-9% ? Brutal.
Camra was gaining a lot of coverage & the real ales were a treat.
However, doing a physical job, its now got to be a ice cold lager or 6 after work.
quiet like a plain old Hieneken tbh.
