Clearly not aimed at Palace ex-pats who have the club at heart but you know that already.

Exactly.

Storm in a tea cup and precious fans getting offended for no reason.

I do agree about the tourists as well. f*** the extra revenue, too many of the daytripping t***s at Palace these days and we need to limit their numbers, not ask for more of them to come!

They got boring a while back.

I wouldn't have called displays such as "Fortress Dildo" pretty but hey-ho.

I don't think that we're a particular target for "tourists" as they put it. Anybody visiting London has four much much bigger teams to choose from, but what do I know about Palace. If you don't spend your every weekend in Lloyds in Croydon you're not a true supporter.
They do still have a Lloyds there right?

They are quite clearly with out a doubt talking about premiership tourists ie those who just go to any ground to watch a premiership game just coz it's a premiership game and not palace fans who live abroad or can't get to games frequently.

Oh the memories. Lloyds downstairs tearing up the dance floor until 2am. Shots of Apple sourz. Walking barefoot through north end to the cab office at west croydon. Aah...

I think that it's more a case of the HF understanding what they're reading. The club's message was clearly aimed at the genuine Palace supporter, living abroad, who want to attend a game when visiting the UK. The HF have responded to this with a rant about so-called 'tourists', which could easily be construed as offensive by an exiled fan. My personal view is that I have no problem with any neutral who wishes to buy a ticket to see a PL game. At the end of the day their money's as good as anyone else's and I didn't see any complaints about all those extra 'supporters' who emerge from the woodwork every time we get to Wembley.

Anyone who wants to come to Selhurst to watch the Palace is welcome, and that was quite a ridiculous and insulting tweet.
Quite frankly those "real fans" who shout and scream abuse at the players when things go wrong on the pitch,or run on to confront individual players are the ones we wouldn't miss.
If we were to be relegated, next season we would be glad of any "tourists" to help fill the ground, because a lot of our newer fans won't bother to turn up if we are not in the Premier League.

And I don't think they meant it in the way of blocking all overseas fans. And yes who can stop people supporting our club. I wish someone would have stopped me!
However....
I am a season ticket holder in block Y of the Arthur and is becoming increasingly pissed off with day trippers filming everything including me and my kids, asking to take photos of them etc etc
This is the stub hub era that has destroyed atmospheres at the likes of white hart lane and now destroying selhurst so I kind of get their point, or at least the point I think they were aiming at!

So, correct the HF shoudlnt have posted this, but I think I get what they were getting at.

Winning on average 1 league match in every 6 for 13 months, and that's home and away (I don't know how bad it is just at home) is what's killed the atmosphere, in certain stands anyway.

I've honestly only seen people taking photos once. That was of people going in the turnstiles.

Just wondering how you know what the board meant and that it was not also aimed at football fans in general wanting to watch palace in the premiership?
You may be right.
Whereas I think we know HFS stance on tourists and day trippers.
So as I don't think the HF message could be construed in any other way than clearly meaning what it meant. The board could be just drumming for business and not just palace fans

Supervising our ticketing policies is an important part of the HF's remit, and those who disagree with their carefully considered verdict ought to write directly to their PO box.

Supervising who is and isn't a proper palace fan is in the deluded realms of King Canute trying to order the tide back.

(Ult)imately ....you get your talons wet and look a fool. eaglettes not yet voting or driving a car telling seasoned elderley eagles they are not proper eagles is just hilarious.

"HF's remit" on on ticket sales, what a ludicrous statement.
Palace are at liberty to sell tickets to whoever is willing to pay, they don't need to consult the fans about their ticketing policy.Maybe like in the Cup Final the club makes arrangements for certain groups of fans to be sat together, that's about it.
