Are those geniuses who like to bring fireworks to the football and smash up the opponent's ground the same ones who graffitied the Palace coaches by mistake ?

It’s always the same couple of Stripey Nigels on here that can't wait to take a dig at the more exuberant supporters (and the HF in particular) for anything and everything that they personally don't like or agree with.

And while they are quite happy to pepper their missives with insults, they bleat from some mythical higher moral ground once they get their desire response.

Nor do they let facts get in the way of their rabid nonsense.

Last month they were pointing the finger at the HF because a bus was spray-painted. All the evidence they needed was a mural painted on a pub wall with the permission of the landlord.

This week it's a flare (or a smoke bomb). A single flare (or smoke bomb) and a couple of bangers. And still they fill their "arguments" with falsehood, so the flare (or smoke bomb) becomes the more dangerous firework.

And next week it will be something else.

Why?

I can only assume they seek some validation of an otherwise disappointing existence. They most certainly don’t seek to open a debate or try and understand an alternative viewpoint, nor indeed attempt to an educate others of their own.

I would say moaning and criminalising the youth for being young is their true sporting passion.

It's about what you want the game to be. Some want it to be a lads' game with an edge, others want it to be a family game.

I've got a lot of sympathy for both sides, having enjoyed the former through the 80s and 90s and feeling sad about how sanitised the game's become.

But I take my kids now and I'd happily kill for them...so if somebody behaved c***ishly around them, I wouldn't have it. Blatant double standards (I also swear like a trooper if they're not with me) but what you gonna do?

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

In your opening line you call people "Stripey Nigels", then you go on about them issuing insults,a bit of hypocracy there.
Then you go on to say the youth are being criminalised, they don't need any help there, surely they are criminalising themselves by doing criminal acts.
What you call bleating from the higher moral ground is actually promoting basic common sense.

Where did you get all your common sense from if you have any that is? I wonder if you and some of the other "I am all for Flares etc" posters actually realise the bad name it gives our club and the trouble it causes for our Chairman not counting the bad publicity and costs that the club will have to pay out. And guess who will start bleating when season tickets cost more to cover the cost of more policing and security staff at Selhurst.
To some of you it is just good fun to sneak flares etc into a football stadium knowing that it is illegal and that our club has had this problem in the past at Selhurst. To the perpetrators all I can say is "Well done children" you just caused more unnecessary problems for our club which you are supposed to support. More publicity of the bad type and more bills to pay for damage done to Chelsea's stadium.
Personally I hope that the ones who did it are caught and get a ban and names put in the press then maybe just maybe the rest of the idiots might get some common sense and stop being so stupid.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

Could have been a Chelsea Fans rucksack with Half n Half masks.

I think this is more the issue, that there isn't some regulation to allow this for clubs. 95% of the time there isn't really any issue, except for surprise from the bangers. Could be an issue for some people, but if they knew that there were pyrotechnics they could be forwarned.

An example of the issue with bangers, my wife has an issue with loud bangs (ooer) from her days in the SA police reserve when she was involved in a protracted shoot out, and a close friend of hers died in her arms. If its a surprise it brings it all 'right back'.

But with flares, ideally I suspect it would be better if the person was right down the front, so it could be thrown onto the pitch side (if anything goes wrong, or to dispose of).

All you'd need is a disclaimer on the back of the tickets sold in that area letting people know that they do so of their own free will and what to expect.

Even Orlando City have just opened a new stadium with a section for Smoke Bombs and flares...we're still so behind the times thinking we're actually ahead of them.

Things have stood still in this country on the back of Hillsborough. Whilst dealing with the issue...we've chosen to ban it entirely..creating a new placid, apathetic breed of fan as a consequence...

I think its more about 'change' we know how a lot of people dont like 'change'...especially when all they do is sit on their bums. Anything to interfere with that is seen as a threat.

However, as I said previously in this post...I can accept its not for everyone...which is why i'd suggest a particular area for those that wish to ramp up the atmosphere...but then i accept that others wish to support in a different way..they clearly do not; reverting to name calling and labelling them as 'morons' and such like

What an absolutely ridiculous post from beginning to end.

You may claim that "It’s always the same couple of Stripey Nigels on here that can't wait to take a dig at the more exuberant supporters (and the HF in particular) for anything and everything that they personally don't like or agree with" completely disregarding the fact that it is against the law to take a firework, flare or smoke bomb into a football ground and anyone caught doing so could be liable to a punishment up to three months in prison.

You can assume that people who like to abide by the laws of the land are seeking some "validation of an otherwise disappointing existence" but the truth that we prefer not to break the law or praise those that do so is far more mundane.

Finally no-one here is "criminalising the youth for being young" as there is a huge difference between being young and breaking the law, a difference that you don't seem to understand
