If the media reported fairly on Trump and not make personal attacks on him and also members of his administration, then maybe they wouldn't get flack.

They constantly call him mentally unstable and unhinged which is unprofessional at best and personal abuse at worst.

In April’s White House Correspondents Dinner, comedienne Michelle Wolf took personal attacks at press secretary Sarah Hukerbee Sanders, taking the piss out of her appearance and Southern roots.

Washington Post columnist and MSNBC contributor Jennifer Rubin said Sanders should be harassed publicly as a 'life sentence.'

MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace suggested that Sanders should be choked. It goes on...

The rhetoric against her ramped up by the media means she is the first ever US press secretary to have Secret Service protection.

The media promotes the narrative from the Democrats that Republican politicians should be hounded in restauramts, gas stations and other public places.

There's nothing mentioned in the BBC article about CNN's false Russia stories and other real fake news and nothing about the personal attacks by journalists. Hardly balanced reporting.

CNN, the channel that had p*** star Stormy Daniels on for weeks on end, is now so bad that even Nickelodeon gets higher viewing figures.

In the run-up to the election, Hillary Clinton got the support of more than 240 editorial boards, while Donald Trump got 19.

All the 300 outlets did was make a political stunt and actually proved Trump right.

Agree with your second point, but an audience gorging on MSM tripe would know no different (not dissimilar to Brexit).
Bless 'em.

The US infrastructure does require updating and maintenance. Trump simply is doing what has been delayed for so many years.

The US should be tackling costs like healthcare but we all know that they won't be bringing those costs down due to idealogy....and lobbying.

However, when you look at the US birth demographics you see that within 15 years no Republican candidate will have any chance of being elected.....no matter how many votes they get with a 'white' block.

Then the democrats will change both healthcare and guns.

Man, is it going to be spicy over there then.....sh1t is going to kick off.

Am I wrong to say I only hope I'm around to see it?.....not that I want anyone to get hurt.....but I know that the country is going to be so discordant that we will be living in very different times.

Michelle Goldberg of The New York Times went on MSNBC and suggested Trump "would like to round people up and murder them". And you wonder why Trump fights back hard at this bulls*** in the media?

The Robert Mueller investigation was only to look for Russian collusion in the election... and has got nothing. Instead, his team has started scouring into other improprieties to people who are close to Trump. Paul Manafort's charges was from a time period when he wasn't even working for him. It's the Deep State still trying to take down POTUS.

No, Penge, it wasn’t. Here is the charge for the Special Counsel: he is to investigate “any links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump; and
(ii) any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation; and
(iii) any other matters within the scope of 28 C.F.R. 600.4( a ).
(c) If the Special Counsel believes it is necessary and appropriate, the Special Counsel is
authorized to prosecute federal crimes arising from the investigation of these matters.”

“28 C.F.R. 600.4( a ). Original jurisdiction. The jurisdiction of a Special Counsel shall be established by the Attorney General. The Special Counsel will be provided with a specific factual statement of the matter to be investigated. The jurisdiction of a Special Counsel shall also include the authority to investigate and prosecute federal crimes committed in the course of, and with intent to interfere with, the Special Counsel's investigation, such as perjury, obstruction of justice, destruction of evidence, and intimidation of witnesses; and to conduct appeals arising out of the matter being investigated and/or prosecuted.”

So far, 7 individuals have been successfully prosecuted or pled guilty for a variety of charges.

Papadopoulos pled guilty to lying after hiding his contacts with Russian government agents.

Flynn pled guilty to lying after being caught lying about meeting with the Russian ambassador.

Manafort was convicted of 8 counts of fraud and filing false tax returns, in which he had hidden 60m he was paid by the Russian backed dictator of the Ukraine. His next trial looks like it will go far deeper into his Russian connections, especially as it has now come out how close he was to a number of senior Kremlin officials.

Gates was pulled up similarly to Manafort, but made a deal which reduced the charges.

Twenty odd Russians have been indicted and one of the key guys, Kilimnik, is close to Manafort.

Add in President Trump’s own comments about wanting the Russians to provide Hilary’s emails, and he is part of a conspiracy. Look up what conspiracy means in this context: if someone requests an illegal act, and another person then commits said act and provides the first person with the benefit, even if the original intent was benign, it does not matter.

Oh, and President Trump and his lawyers confirmed that the meeting with Russian government agents was to get dirt on Hilary Clinton.

As for the argument that the investigation has not shown a direct link to Trump, I would argue it has. But whether I am right or not is irrelevant as he will almost certainly not be indicted whilst he is in office: thus making the argument that no evidence has been presented against him and no charges filed, moot. That is, at least until the report is complete. It is likely that will all remain out of sight.

When Trump talked about 'draining the swamp', did he mean by employing a campaign chairman, a deputy campaign manager, a national security adviser, a personal lawyer and a foreign policy aide all of whom would later admit to and/or be convicted of crimes, leaving investigators a trail of breadcrumbs to follow towards evidence of Russian collusion in the election, implicating dozens more high-level individuals and ultimately leading to his own impeachment?

Because, if so, kudos. That is the sort of commitment to fulfilling your campaign promises that is all too rare these days.

Ask me about Ronald de Boer.

Isn't the American perception of Trump now is that he is just a crook?

It depends upon with whom you discuss the topic. I had a recent office mate who was a true believer, who had an explanation for everything. Much as I have other friends did the same for Hilary, or Corbyn.

That being said most people now seem to view him as such, which has taken a while given his long history of connections to the Russian and NY mobs, and his own comments about connections to Russian money.
