Anyone interested in learning more about the great Trump tax fiasco, see here:

[Link]

It is apparently a simple matter of law, but given this is America it will likely be years in the system and end up in the Supreme court.

I do so wonder what it is in Trump's tax returns that he so desperately wants to keep a secret. Smells a bit fishy, eh.

If your finances/taxes are above board, why refuse to release them exactly?

That doesnt do much to show his detractors that he is not a crook.

Two questions, as someone who lies in America how has Trump affected you personally?
Do you think Trump Derangement Syndrome is real?

It's as real as Hillary derangement syndrome.

I've seen people of left and right rant about Trump and Hillary respectively, in a way they do with no other politicians.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it.

It's a reasonable criticism.

I think that when it comes to criticising political leaders whenever the focus of the debate continually moves into the personal then the credibility of the criticism is lost to the rational observer.

It's true of criticism of any politician or individual, whether I'm generally for them or not.

I don't think it's wrong to point out where a politician lies or is hypocritical or immoral even. However, when you look at the hyper emotional polemics on frequent display regarding Trump it's going to attract its own form of criticism.

Thatcher drew a lot of personal criticism. Maybe in London we weren’t exposed to the same effects of her policies but she’s still vilified in some areas. Even at that it seems the hatred of Trump is on a different level. Could just be that social media brings it more into the open.

It's throwing red meat to his base.

But personally I think he should be far more interested in the economy and ensuring that tech companies don't turn the Internet into a corporate land grab and free speech graveyard....but sure, building the wall was a campaign promise that he would be unwise to break with his base....but it only delays.

Other than that.....just keep trolling his way through to the next election......oh and if he can somehow bag another p*** star and have himself another #metoo scandal that would be fun as well.

Preferably a Russian p*** star.

Reminds me of a question about being in the EU.

Trump denies climate change, this does and will affect many many people in a very negative way, for years to come.

Trump basically gave Putin a pass on election interference, that affects everyone here and undermines democracy.

His verbal diarrhea and chaotic leadership dominates the news cycle, pretty annoying.

Friends of mine had a visa delayed to come here due to his government shutdown, which meant we all had to change our plans. This also closes national parks, govt offices and museums and such, not to mention delaying people’s tax returns this year, including mine.

TDS is real but it is down to Trump, not the person displaying the symptoms. He is a train wreck of a president, the worst there ever was or ever will be.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

A friend pointed me to a book called the Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein. I have just finished it and also watched the documentary on Youtube:
[Link]

I cannot recommend it highly enough as it is an exceptional narrative of the past 50 years of politics and sheds a lot of light on the actions of the main political actors of that and this period.

It's observations and assertions are readily applied to a lot of the agendas we see today from Trumps Wall to Brexit, Israel and continuing tensions around the world.

I implore everyone to at least watch the documentary which is only an hour and a bit. It will give you another perspective with which to test the actions of the current leaders.

I also see some comments about Thatcher in this thread. I am of an age where I was well aware of her, but too young to appreciate her actions. Now, I see her and her methods and objectives in a much more polarised light.

Please watch as it is an important piece of work despite it being over a decade old. I would love to hear what others think of it.

Trump denying whatever won't make the slightest difference to anything. In the meantime there have recently been some very interesting technological developments.

Not sure you can talk too much over 'undermining democracy' when you have been fighting against leaving the EU after a majority voted for it.....That's pretty much the definition of it by resisting what the majority voted for.

Have you turned into Mystic Meg or something?

He has a good chance of re-election and is at around 44/43 percent so if he's the worst president ever then that's quite a difference between how you perceive things and the majority outside your bubble perceive them.
