Next season when contracts are up and RLC, Cabaye and McArthur have left we're likely to have to be creative to plug the holes. So maybe not ideal but possible.

Just a thought but could we apply a similar deal that Liverpool did for Keita? Agree a fee with Besiktas and get him to sign in January.....

True, but I'd hate for us to miss out on a potentially great signing again. Worth the risk in my opinion but knowing how things go for us it would be sod's law if he did get injured if we made the deal with them!

Having scored a hatful of goals for his Turkish side ,since his move to us failed to materialize, now admits that while he desperately wanted to join us last window until SP 's screwed up a done deal at the last minute, apparently quibbling over an extended payment,that with the benefit of hindsight, his not signing was a GREAT ESCAPE!! Looks like Spurs are now his preferred destination.
