Sure...I like both America and Japan....Very different countries with very different problems. The money point is valid I suppose.

I'm also a big fan of the Beatles.....Unfortunately I don't think they would have been a fan of some of my politics....But you can't have everything.

Also, I'm not sure how this happiness metric is being measured....I'm pretty sure that if the Japanese knew how people like yourself would be using that statistic they would probably reject your position.

Also, in this Brave New World using Japan as a template what do we do with 10% of British people who don't share our ethnicity?

Was t aware of that but recognised the weird cartoons pictures of children they have everywhere. Isn't suggestive child p***.graphy still legal? Like a semi naked child and man? I could go further on what the child is doing but it's sick. The guy legitimising child p*** in his p*** shop was something else. He appeared completely normal. Just a 30 year old guy you'd see at a sports event.

Good programme, some seriously fkd up people over there.

Live with them and encourage their adoption of the main culture....Nothing wrong with celebrating your heritage. But multiculturalism is a dangerous and failed ideology.

This would lead to more success for these communities than what multiculturalism has given them.

There are some unpalatable aspects of the past that have echos in the present. I'm not sure what the abuse statistics are in Japan but their crime rates are very low.

Regardless, no one's making the argument that we become Japan, but we could definitely learn and benefit from aspects.

That is hilarious. Wilf being encouraged to learn how to behave like white British people from the 1950s. Is it April 1st already?

Irony is of course is that that was what exactly the 10,000 folk off Windrush etc wanted to do when they arrived. Join, be accepted, work, not layabout. Unfortunately, they faced incredible racism and hostility. Hence, why they grouped together more than perhaps they wanted to originally.

Oh dear. Really not sure you have thought this one through. Since when has there been a 'main culture' to adopt? Is it not fluid? Has it not changed rapidly and radically as a result of political, economic, social and technological shifts? Are you yourself right on down with the kids?

Even major mores don't last forever, values change. The idea we can turn back the tide by freezing our society and getting newcomers to adopt it is bizarre and had never happened. Change just keeps getting quicker.

Ride the wave my friend and try to turn it to your advantage, looking back wistfully will result in a waste of your life.

I don't what the Windrush situation refers to but I will say this.

The Jewish has suffered far more persecution than any group in history and they make a case of culturally integrating into the societies they exist within.

In part result they are probably the single most successful group in humanity.....certainly when measured on the Nobel Prize metric.

The left's approach to integration has caused this country much harm and it has also caused much harm to those communities themselves.

'White British people from the 1950s'.

Who called you prejudiced again?

What makes you think that Wilf isn't culturally British? Because he plays for Ivory Coast?

Nice try. It was you who said that people like Wilf - the 10% oF British who don't share our ethnicity - need to be "encouraged" in the ways of olde worlde Britain and its heritage not me.

I think you may now have realised how comically ridiculous that was, yes?

I think you are Nick are the same, insomuch as you don't answer questions. You avoid them as mostly your politics is based upon emotion not reason which leads to easily risible positions.

So you have to invent strawman arguments like this one.

Just because someone may originate from overseas it doesn't mean that they don't assimilate successfully into the culture. I've been referring to those that don't. You used the example of Wilf for some nonsensical reason.

You have brought up 50s Britain, not me.

You unethically create strawman arguments to tear down.
