Whatever happens if the Tories manage to not have Johnson as leader for the next election then they will only have themselves to blame.....and they will get an enormous kicking from the right if they don't win. The general public as a mass aren't interested in these sanctimonious poe faced offence junkies. They would vote for someone like Johnson as they did in London....despite it being a Labour city. Social justice warrior lite May is a disaster and as soon as the Brexit two year time table is over...whatever the outcome of that is....she has to go and the Tories contest the election with someone popular with the 'don't knows'.

Charismatic as Johnson is I just don't think he comes over with the required reliability nor trustworthiness to help see us through the next decade and, as such, would be really up against it v Corbyn. Boris would be difficult to elect with a majority. I just don't see him as PM material at all. He is barely good enough for The Cabinet.

There are valid criticisms of Johnson....mind you there are valid criticisms of most politicians. What matters is what party rules....Brexit is by far the most important situation for the next ten years and we need a leaver leading it. Let's see the country decide. Johnson v Corbyn.....2020. That was....to be fair...a very different circumstance. Churchill was always more suited as a war leader.....he was very forthright and marmite...and disliked for it within his own party. The country.....obviously thought extremely highly of Churchill.....He was re-elected and anyone who goes to YouTube and watches his funeral will see it writ large. Wasn't he voted the greatest Britain a few years back?
