It has nothing to do with whether a rape has been alleged. The allegation I referred to was not whether a rape had occurred but the allegation of a ""wholesale rape of thousands of girls by hundreds of pakistani men in an organised and systematic fashion.. and its associated cover-up". No-one has been, or could be, tried and found guilty of such a crime. That's ALL I was saying. It is an allegation, albeit one that's widely made and believed. Why people want to jump on this beats me.

Clearly there is a problem. No-one disputes, or has ever disputed that. It has nothing at all to do with that. Not a thing.

This is ONLY about the report which has been written as a consequence of the investigation into the background to that problem and the decision to handle it internally.

I have absolutely no sympathy for anyone found guilty of paedophilia. I want them found, charged and removed from society unless and until they can be safely returned. Which for some might be never.

The naivety is entirely with those determined not to understand the points I am making. Which is solely restricted to why this report might be kept internal. Nothing else at all.

I have never offered an opinion on whether it is still happening. It has clearly happened, because there have been successful prosecutions. For the record I think it is highly likely to still be happening, but hopefully to a much reduced degree due to the level of scrutiny and actions being taken as a consequence.

My only interest is the truth. Which means I try to avoid tabloid tittle tattle, look behind the sensational headlines, defend those trying to deal with these things on our behalf and support their efforts. Those people will be held to account in Parliament, especially in select committees, so I have a trust that many don't seem to have.
