He's on a 4 year contract? Surely he signed that being prepared to remain at Palace for at least a couple of years. Cant have your cake and eat it son, get your nut down and be a team player. COYP

It wouldn’t surprise me if Bayern Munich came in for him before their window closes, especially as they had to abort their bid for Sane.

Exactly my thinking. Hudson-Odoi resigned at Cheslki & Sane out for the year... Saga could drag on until the 2nd September.

I wonder if Parish has told Wilf in confidence that a takeover is imminent and if completed by January can leave with his blessing because our owners behaviour smacks of this

Let's hope there is one. I do suspect that the AWB has been jsed to pay the debt so the Americans can sell a virtually debt-free club. They obviously want out as the new stand is going to happen. We, however, cannot afford for any possible takeover to drag on and need it sorted by January (if that is possible)

Or there isn’t a takeover in the pipeline at all.

I cannot work out who has won out of all this. I’m not even sure anyone, including, Wilf, his w@nkers (no transfer fee commission) or the club know who’s won or gained from this saga.

Yes he’s being paid more, but that may make him stuck at Palace. And then we don’t sell him when we may sell need to. The only way we won’t need to or I’d say say shouldn’t sell is if we’re taken over by mega wealthy owners. Otherwise evolving the team is inevitable so it’s a case of how much Zaha sale cash or none.

There were some logical theories popping up on the bbs last night. Will have to keep reading because making sense of this is far from easy.

The only explanations I can come up with as to how it happened is his w@nker advisors, Wilf frustrated he’s only wanted by clubs from 5th or 6th down and way below Parish’s valuation. Oh, and good old fashioned greed. As for the strategy or plan by the team of w@nkers, I can make sense of it, but then they’re like a group of teenagers in a business of shrewd and experienced businessmen.

He needs to bin his pals, as parish needs expertise rather than ex players.

Id love to know the reason why he handed in the transfer request, because he obviously done so with the advice that a team was about to bid big and it never happened. Stiched up big style and definitely wont play Saturday.

Forget all this nonsense about going to Chelsea in January, they have just tied down Hudson Odoi (Left Wing) and paid big cash for Pulisic (Right wing), they do not need Wilf and thats a fact.

Wilf's temperment would put most of the big teams off signing him and the fact that he struggles to pick out an easy pass when it is staring him in the face.

It may be hard for Wilf to take but he is not as in demand as he thinks he is or else he would have been snapped up by now. When the big clubs want a player they just go and get him. Big deals rarely happen in January so I think we can all look forward to him for at least another season then it all starts again next summer.

Everton aren't real Madrid, but they are bigger, richer and in a far better position to get European football than us.

That judas Wright? Quite possibly (perhaps apart from Zaha) our best ever player you mean? Or have you forgotten that bit?

Ian Wright’s the best player I’ve seen at Palace. Salako is the most effective winger I’ve watched, get the ball beat the player and cross it.

The rest of your post is complete bollocks too.

Bang on mate. Ian Wright is not a club Legend.

Its all died down a bit now and I think from what I have read amongst the lies and half truths that this is in short what has happened:

1) SP agreed with Wilf he could go this summer if CL club came in and suitable price paid.

2) Arsenal came in and didn't meet either of these criteria although I believe a suitable price would have secured a deal here as they still had european football.

3) Everton came in and offered one bid only, £52m. They may or may not have offered players along with the £52m however this has never been confirmed by any reasonable source. They also did not meet the criteria for any european football whatsoever.

4) Wilf saw that a move wasn't coming so slapped in a transfer request last minute to try and convince someone to come in for him. This failed miserably as no-one outside of Arsenal and Everton had shown any real interest and both of them were at figures which Palace were never going to accept.

The upshot of all of this is we are left with an unhappy player who thinks he deserves better than the hand he has been dealt. It remains to be seen whether he is professional enough to play through this and place himself in the shop window for next year.

If you listen to the words Roy used when interviewed in his car you will note that he said Wilf is with us for another year, so I would not think there is a promise or a plan to offload him in January unless a massive bid is made AND we can replace him with a suitable player.

I have to admit to wanting to see him gone given his antics and would have accepted someone like Sarr as his replacement, however if £52m is the sum total of what was offered I can understand why it was rejected out of hand. He was never going anywhere for that sort of money.

As a Palace fan I truly hope he gets his act together and plays for the team. I don't expect him to play this weekend but should return next week.

All my opinion of course.

Who was stitched up? Wilf? Palace? The bro w@nkers?

It’s possible this deal stitches up both Zaha and Palace, just at different times during the contract. My opinion that we should sell him anyway next summer is growing because there is of course the danger he has an injury orcdevelops injury problems and then we really are stuffed, and when you look at the players we could’ve signed this summer if we had our act together then I think life without Wilf isn’t necessarily going to be the Armageddon some have feared. It can make us a more dynamic and dangerous team coming from all angles, like what happened with RLC in the team. Yes I know we had Zaha and Townsend but the point stands. We are as predictable as it gets. Close down Wilf, close out Palace at Selhurst.
