I get why people are down on Iran, and with good reason, but lets not be under any illusions here. This decision by Trump is essentially driven by Israeli/Saudi pressure.

I would love to see the Iranian regime toppled because I know that there are millions in Iran desperate to be freed from the rule of the Fundie nutters but I am also incredibly wary of the way Trump seems to have now sold out to the dual influences of Jerusalem and Riyadh. Lets not forget the farce of the recent attacks on Syria on the back of a chemical attack which is now not even discussed due to how ludicrous the stitch up job was.

When you look around and observe how the world works. You begin to understand a lot that isn't explicitly presented to you. Mind you, without an understanding of basic human nature a lot of people go overboard, get paranoid and lose it.

There was very little evidence that Iran’s government under rouhani was ever planning to build nuclear weapons. Since the deal was reached from what I’m aware, it has in fact been the Americans who have been internationally recognised as breaking more terms of the deal, and yet here we have a delusional and reactionary American president defying all other international actors by claiming they are the ones who’ve been defied? what is even the end goal of this lie, to provoke the conservatives in the Iranian government to become North Korea mark 2 and start building for a nuclear war?

I just had the misfortune of watching Evan Davis on Newsnight talking to a very eloquent and tragic professor in Tehran who has survived two chemical gas attacks (weapons provided to Saddam by America) going through the history of US Iran relations before being cut off mid flow, presumably because we can’t allow the other sides story to be told to the public.
