That's the potential outcome from describing these gangs as "Muslim", "Islamic" or pakistani" Not all of Islam is involved, so it's NOT happening at all. Calling out drug dealers, muggers and stabbings isn't remotely the same. You don't place them all into one category, although some might try by using "black" as the adjective.

I don't know what's in the report, or what it recommends, and nor does anyone other than those with a need to know, for the time being at least. I’m not interested in skin colour. Gang activity and drug dealing was an example of something which you can’t have an informed opinion on, no matter how lofty your idealist views may be, unless you’ve lived with its consequences. Of course not everybody is involved but how many of the grooming gang members were reported by their own community? Many more people were complicit in these crimes than will be brought to justice.

I think the real issue here is that medical staff are now bravely in my opinion coming forward and claiming that this clinic is pushing an agenda. Bravely because you can imagine the torrent of abuse that they have been getting from the Trans community. This is a scandal in the making the medical staff are not some Christian right activist but people who worked at that clinic but no longer believe it is operating correctly. I am not against transitioning but people who want this by the very nature of it are vulnerable and the medical staff are supposed to help them rather than push for it. It maybe especially in young people that they are confusing sexuality and gender. Apparently the number of people who are now transitioning has gone through the roof. I said scandal as I suspect in a few years time this claim will be one of many. This and the high number of post trans people who commit suicide.

Would more members of their own community be willing to come forward and report things, in particular the women, if they felt less stigmatised and better protected? I think the answer to both is yes and can see no upside to not doing so.
