The point you are wilfully evading is that a lot of people not only reject our standards but actively want to replace them. As British people are now the minority in London how are they “our” standards anyway? This bigger picture is just hippie dreamland.

I am not evading anything. That those who identify as "white" British are now in a minority in London doesn't mean that British people are. Skin colour has nothing to do with a person's current cultural identity, or their acceptance and defence of British standards. Many people retain links to their cultural backgrounds. The Irish, Welsh and Scots do. So, believe me, do the Cornish. Doing that is not incompatible with adhering to our overall standards. Indeed it adds colour and interest to them. It is only those who have not yet adjusted and seek to live by standards which are at odds to our own which are a problem. That needs work.

This is delusion beyond acceptability.

His ideology is responsible for a higher crime, lower trust society. It's as simple as that and no amount of waffle changes that. When he talks about 'culture' and waffles on about how things need to improve....He does it against all evidence.

Mass immigration since WW2 means that we have enough evidence collected to show well....What people with common sense already knew. Multiculturalism doesn't work, divergent identities solidify as numbers increase. If you bring the third world, you get the third world.....heterogeneous societies are lower trust, higher crime societies.

Success stories are only true with filters on.

This internationalist ideology has the blood of that increased crime and murder on their hands.

Look at his words and then look at where he lives. Talking about the Cornish is a huge joke.

Skin colour is not race, it is an attribute....I can jump on a sunbed and change my skin colour.

It is used as a descriptor for convenience but when it's used to conflate an argument....we have to go through the rigmarole of stating the obvious.

When skin colour is used as a reason for prejudice it is no "descriptor for convenience". It is a stick being used as a weapon in a culture war.

I don't have an ideology that defines how I think. I say things as I see them, as truthfully as I can.

I have lived for 75 years and during that time have witnessed a lot of immigration waves. Every one of them caused disquiet and, sometimes, outrage. Every one of them generated negative headlines and forecasts of impending doom. For each our country was already full, there was not enough housing or work. "Mass" immigration and multicultural disaster stories aren't new. It's just the terminology that is.

Every one brought it's special problems but they have all gradually been overcome. People from the third world don't come here to recreate the third world. They come here to escape it. What we need to do is allow them to, whilst ensuring that we make sure that they understand that our laws apply to all, as much for their benefit as anyone else's. We should be tolerant and accept that people naturally bond together with others from the same cultural heritage whilst encouraging them to experience and learn to participate in our culture. That way has worked in the past and will again. If it appears harder this time around then we don't just give up! We try even harder and take as long as it takes.

Blaming increasing crime rates on immigration is another echo of the past. Bad people exist in every group and some groups have a disproportionately high number of them. Doesn't matter. We must encourage the good and punish the criminals, whatever their background, and without fear or favour. Always and every time.

To describe "Internationalism" as an ideology is a false idea. It isn't. It is just a fact of modern life. We either accept the consequences and manage them, as effectively as we can, or we turn inwards and all suffer the consequences. We aren't Hungary, Israel or Japan. This is the UK. People want to come here. We should be proud of that and not wanting to slam the door in their faces of all of them.

But yes, my reference to Cornwall was a joke. Not a huge one mind. If anyone on their next visit here wants to try their hands at Cornish wrasslin or join a sea shanty festival and air their vocal chords I know where to go!

I didn’t say “white” British. I said British. Skin colour is of no interest to me.
This solution of waiting until everyone has adjusted does not account for new arrivals. This waiting for adjustment period will go on forever.
Bearing in mind more people in Truro identify as Jedi knights than do as Muslims what interest and colour have they brought?

BBC reporting the "thought police" are to be deployed by Sheffield University, only they don't call it that.

[Link]

"Sheffield students paid to tackle racist language on campus" What's wrong with that well if a student is openly saying I hate all **** people nothing. It's when I see the examples of racism that I worry.

From the BBC
The students will be paid £9.34 per hour as "race equality champions", working between two and nine hours per week to tackle "microaggressions" in the university. These are described as comments or actions which might be unintentional, but which can cause offence to a minority group.

It gives examples of what it means by microaggression - such as:

"Stop making everything a race issue"
"Why are you searching for things to be offended about?
"
"Where are you really from?"
"I don't want to hear about your holiday to South Africa. It's nowhere near where I'm from"
"Being compared to black celebrities that I look nothing like"

Vice-chancellor Koen Lamberts said the initiative wanted to "change the way people think about racism". (I bet he does).

Regarding the first 2 I have worked with people who were continually looking to be offended calling them out is not racist in that context. The holiday comment is plain rude telling someone you don't want to hear about it and the celebrity comment well I would be very happy to be compared to George Clooney.

Yet again the BBC is reporting what I think is a highly controversial proposal to shut down free speech and doesn't bother to report the other point of view.

As for the paid students no doubt the lefties will be queueing to sign up armed with their mobile phones and Hi Viz ready to root out wrong thinking.

Sigh when I was growing up universities were bastions of free speech it sees a long time ago.

No you didn't but if you check the thread the assertion that less than 50% of Londoners are now British was based on the last census return reporting that a minority now self identify there as "White" British. Hence the linkage.

For sure this is a job which will never end. It's a pipeline. It's also a two way pipeline as we have a significant amount of emigration as well and always have had. For most of our recent history more people have left our shores than arrived. That has been reversed in the last few years but will it last?

Take a look here:- [Link]

I have never actually seen a "Jedi Knight" in Truro but regularly see plenty of Muslims, mostly as tourists of course, but we have residents as well. I know people had some fun with the last census!

Some are fixated with the fact that I live in Cornwall and seem to think that means I cannot see, or have an opinion on, what happens on the other side of the Tamar. You might have noticed that I have an opinion on what happens in the USA too, so not physically being someone is not an impediment to forming a view. As I have pointed out before having a keen interest and a long perspective can add value to a debate. It might not just be your perspective.

Whether it’s British or White British doesn’t matter when the problem is shared culture and values. Some people leaving the country does nothing to change the fact that apparently we need to “educate” new arrivals of whom there is a constant supply. The job is impossible anyway when a proportion don’t want to have anything to do with our culture. And to be honest what’s in it for those doing all this teaching and accepting? A vague hope that things might stay the same?
You’ve mentioned this perspective before, who do you think knows more about the moon - you or Buzz Aldrin?

Our students are being conditioned to believe that people of other races are beyond criticism.

What a great way to increase resentment.

Does the BBC pay somebody to sit, watch all their content and to tick a box every time a minority-person appears on the screen ? for statistical analysis.

Orwellian, i know. Tell me this is not true ?

Probably counting every second one doesn’t appear.
