Iíll put this scenario to you.. youre on late turn starting at 2pm. You bring a prepared meal in from home.. it gets kept in the Police station in your team fridge and you go out on patrol in the cars.

Youíre due your break at 6pm.. At 5.50pm youíre dispatched to a sudden death (person found dead)
You know from experience that a sudden death takes around 3 hours to deal with. Over the next few hours there are no spare units to go and get your food from the station and drop it to you 8 miles away...

However there is a kebab shop 30 yards from where you are at the sudden death. Do you go 8 hours without eating or pop to the kebab shop to get a burger to eat in the car????

Is that just an excuse??

A burger from a kebab shop.
I think you should not eat for 8 hours.
Disgraceful

Many times, especially since the Tory cuts you don't even get to eat as you are literally flat out for the entire shift.

I know what youíre saying but with a bit of thought there are some meals that can be eaten the temperature they are in the boot. Itís vastly better than take aways laden with saturated fat and salt and ingredients youíre unaware of. Rank. Iíd rather have a cold curry, spag bol, chilli, etc, and theyíre the foods you all know are easy to sort out. Thereís endless other stuff thatís far healthier with plenty of vegetables. Mediterranean vegetables roasted in olive oil and cold is great. You can eat loads of them. Options arenít limited to the shyte on the high street. You eat sh1t youíll look like sh1t. Police who eat donuts are donuts.

Lol the donuts thing is more of an American thing although there are fines of sorts in the police for f***ing up which will include donuts and cream cakes...

If you worked on a serious squad and you were late for an early morning spin you had to pray someone else was later than you as the fine would be buying the whole squad breakfast after the job was done which could end up costing you about £100!!

Correct I have worked one of those job and have relations that do.

Ok it's simple you eat before you go in if you are eating correctly you could go that whole time without needing anything more.

As others have said you can put something in your car or carry bit of a snack as such.

it's all excuses again.

A bit like letting fat people die.
Gone full circle !

What are you going on about?

so you think it's acceptable that people refuse to turn up for appointments and if they do this a few times the surgery removes them from their list will cause them to die.

are you retarded it appears so.

Why is that? lazyness again and not eating correct diet because they get free dental care.

Plenty of meals that can be had it's all excuses.

saturated fat is healthy so is salt.

none of what you listed is healthy it's all high carb and problem with carbs are you want more few hours later which is why carb eaters tend to eat throughout the day if you eat high fat diet you can get away easily 1-2 meals a day thats all you need plus you dont get any cravings or sugar crashes

lol donuts thats not a uk thing for police anyway.

Oi grumpy that's hate speech
My point is actually that we live in a claim society.
If one person for whatever reason doesnt get to see a doctor and cops it no win no fee will be knocking on the NHS door.
It's like the police numbers.
When was the last time you needed them?
Exactly!
Repeat offenders will always be repeat offenders and attention seekers.
I see my quack once a year because he has an obligation due to my RA.
I generally even though fat and dont need them often.
Live and let live sadly is the fair way.
I agree with you generally but think the rule would affect the wrong people along with the right people.

Blimey I spent all those years just making excuses, despite the fact I kept myself in shape and played Rugby for The Met..... According to grumpy I should of eaten properly at 11.30am before I left at 12 to get to work and gone all the way through until 11pm without anything to eat!!

I listed those meals because everybody recognises them and in the job or jobs weíre talking about they need energy and carbs. Alternatively you could make a frittata full of Mediterranean vegetables which is zero carbs and eat it cold when you need it, but youíll be having a headache later on. I tried the Atkins diet years ago to see what it was like. Fvck that.

Thereís plenty of options other than the student grub I mentioned, but as a dinner when youíre on the go for 8 hours plus theyíre certainly acceptable.
