Nicola Sturgeon reveals details of the COBRA meeting before Johnson.

A serious breach of trust.

Right so here goes..

Supermarkets shut during the week & only open at weekends for essentials
All international flights cancelled
Border patrol already turning people away at the borders
The border between the Czech Republic & Slovakia closed.
All schools closed
Ski resort closed
Aquapark closed
Mandatory Quarantine for residents who have been outside the country.
All Social & Cultural facilities closed
Also hearing all restaurants are now closed too.

I have literally just kissed goodbye to any takings for a while.
Hopefully the government has some provisions for businesses here due to the actions they have taken.

Just went to the local Coop and bought more supplies (25 beers for €5)

Have to get the priorities right. And the missus kept banging on about nappies and baby food.

If I might be permitted to reply directly for you for once as this is a time to put our differences aside.

I wholeheartedly agree with you and endorse what you suggest. We are fortunate in our village in that we have a kind and caring community who look out for each other. Not everyone is so lucky though. I will give some thought to some of the more isolated houses in the locality and keep a watchful eye on them

We got on national news for having a WhatsApp group in our road for residents who need help. Perhaps some people could do this?
Not my idea by the way but an alright one if you have a coherent community.
And, at least with WhatsApp, you still barely have to speak to your neighbours directly.

I think what's coming is pretty serious for those vulnerable to flu. I certainly feel we can agree on this.

We all know that those who are lucky enough to reach advanced years often don't have younger family for whatever reason and we have two across the road we are going to look out for.....if they run short I just hope they like pot 'Bombay badboy' noodle.

I live in a block of flats we have vulnerable elderly people I have proposed to the board a contingency plan.

The main thing is people follow the government advice on hand washing but also we keep our communal areas clean as much as possible e.g. the front door handle. Of course you can wipe it and 5 mins later the post man contaminates it but you can only do what you can do. The other thing is to reassure the residents that if anyone is ill we have a pool of volunteers to do their shopping etc.

Hopefully others have similar ideas.

You can reach out to all the people in your road/area via the next door website (it will find them for you) and then perhaps set up a WhatsApp group that you can advertise for you.Be the one to initiate this and get involved. I agree that we really need to keep a look out for the vulnerable and that might include families with kids and two adults that are sick that might need help as well as old and truly vulnerable people.

Also if you close the schools the children will meet up anyway. Just like during the school holidays.

I think there is a massive over reation and (although I feel very dirty saying this) I agree with Johnson.

Not worried in the slightest about getting it. If you get it, you get it. If you don't, you don't. If the very worst happens you'll get re-incarnated anyway. Honey Badger for me.

A honey badger.
Why?

I presume there will be loads of stabbings over control of hand sanitiser, bog roll and face mask turfs - the new scourges of the streets.
