It really is down to vulnerable and their close friends and family to do the right thing. The government should have done their bit but fuss about showing they’re trying to defeat a virus they can’t.

If you are asked by BF then you have to show evidence of your completed details. If you use the e-gates, the chances of you bein asked are small. We should have insisted that these were completed before travel as have Greece etc but again we seem to have bowed to pressure from the airlines.
I agree the system has been poorly thought through

So on that % about 4 million people have had it for 40k to be dead.
What about the depression and issues those deaths bring to the friends and families affected. Do they not count?
Let's say we 'go on as normal' and 20m get C19.
That's 200k deaths. All the families and friends of those dead wont feel depressed I guess. That's apart from the reported long term conditions.
Atm it's around 80% have some form of heart problem.
Let's say that's a massive over estimation for long term issues; so let's say 10% have long term issues.
That's 2m to live with that forever. Their families will be affected greatly. It's the knock on long term effects that HMG are trying to avoid.
This could be the 2nd wave we've heard so much about. How about if this started killing kids as it could morph. Would the attitude change from the 'flu is worse' brigade. I think that would screw up many people mentally. I think it's best not to find out. People managed to reduce the numbers before by sticking to the rules. Now the rules are law so there is a lot more in this than we know.

Being shared on Facebook. The young are realising not to trust this govt so I expect more disobedience, trouble, they might ditch the masks in anger when they eventually realise their future is going down the pan with their freedoms. Hopefully the virtuous s*** will go as well. I’ll be glad to see it. Boris and Hancock are the most innumerate and spineless, illogical and incapable leaders so far removed from what the elderly or young think it’s a joke. Never voting tory again unless they get rid of these type of cvnt’s and the young may never vote Tory when they usually get financial and social conservative wishes.

So 1% of 20m is not 200k.
Recent reports havent said 80% of covid cases have some sort of heart issue. Long or short term.
They are figures that are there.
How is that being sucked in.

From what was said prior there was an error in that study, which would be a good thing. Other studies put the percentage at maybe 30%-40% though for heart inflammation, so the 'hope' would be that over time that improves. Though point being we do not know if that is the case. If it is happy days, if it isn't, we have a(nother) problem down the line.

I would agree with you that we're not looking at nice numbers, and that it's rational to try to slow the spread when it increases beyond a point with sensible measures. At the same time though the economy has had so much of a battering that businesses are rightly terrified of another lockdown. Whatever steps are or aren't taken will always be wrong because the outlook will be worse than the status quo. The government has been crap throughout, though I don't envy being in their shoes.

From what we can assess so far most kids should be okay and so I'd agree that speculation can be dangerous. Though of course anything we say one way or the other is speculation, in either downplaying or looking to worse case scenarios. Whatever decisions are made result in sh!t and not fully known outcomes, which is why government decisions come across as inept and indecisive in a whole host of countries.

I believe Cryst said previously that his boy has some significant health issues. In this shoes, you would perhaps be more attuned to concerns about what this virus could mean for your family. On a national level the economic argument should be loud and clear especially after the impact of the lockdown pushed many business to or over the edge, but within a family everyone has a different situation and so understandably a different perspective.

Simple point. Why lock down a nation when you can just politely ask for those who need to be protected to lock themselves down.

This country is fooked plain and simple if we don’t all go back to work.
