Oh I am only too aware of this. We are actually on the move at the moment and sold our home above the asking price within 2 hours of the first viewing. There is a huge demand with many people who now work from home moving here. The impact on prices is extraordinary. If our buyers withdrew I think we could probably now get £30,000 more.

We are also expecting a huge number of holidaymakers too this year.

Where you moving to....Somewhere more in line with your principles we'd hope.

Property prices whilst inflating fast remain relatively low here.

I won't disclose the sales price but I won't be paying any stamp duty on the purchase, which is higher.

Good time to sell your rental properties then?

My principles are unaffected by where I choose to live.

I don't like busy cities. Who lives in the makes no difference at all.

I prefer quiet countryside, the coast, space, clean air, rural pubs and real ale.

Woe betide any holidaymakers who need to access the NHS whilst there though. I know a few people who regularly holidayed in Cornwall prior to the pandemic but are refusing to return due to the behaviour of the Cornish Liberation Front last summer

No. The yield is better than anything I could get on deposit and they could only really be sold to another investor as a group. They are small, single person units with affordable rents.

I wasn't aware of any such "behaviour" and it would be surprising if there really was any!

There will be a real problem though if we get overloaded in the summer as we only have one major hospital and that sometimes struggles at the best of times. It's difficult in places like this to have sufficient resources available when for a couple of months the population trebles.
