Went to see Parasite last week purely off the back of it winning the Oscar and it's bloody brilliant.

Two thumbs up.

At least someone got something out of watching the Oscars. Sounds interesting.

Good film or not we all know that it was a 'diversity' pick. If it wasn't for all the virtue signalling and anti white stuff you know 1917 would have won.

Just from a personal viewpoint, I knew about 1917 and always watch war films. However, I hadn't heard of Parasite, and it sounds relatively funny. I probably won't be laughing at the same parts as DanH though.
All American award shows are unwatchable and always have been - firstly it was crying, now it is crying and jokes about Trump or skin colour. The fear of being called racist by the press means all the decisions are politically motivated now, rather than on merit. But perhaps they always were - in other ways.
To cut a long story short, I dislike all award shows. They are inevitably a love-in and the choices have no actual value. But if DanH got something from it - it must be lauded. 'Middle class white male benefits from Oscars' shocker.

i've seen all of steve perrys work.
A trail blazer.

On a less high brow note, although I watch a lot of films i've never fully seen psycho or citizen kane, having seen so many clips & large piece sections of them but never start-finish.
shame really .

Completely agree.

A bunch of insecure loveies all patting themselves on the back.....Ricky Gervais summed them all rather well.....bunch of sharks portraying themselves as sheep.

I don't think I've watched the Oscars for about ten years....since the politics and virtue signalling just got too much.

Ten years? The Oscars haven't represented the pinnacle of film making for many years more than that and the only reason that I can see for watching the show is to see attractive women with their breasts hanging out of their dresses

A clever movie however I could not warm to it as I didn't like any of the characters both the rich are the poor were pretty awful.

Worth seeing and it kept me guessing but my own personal taste is I have to like at least one character in a show.

To be admired and respected yes, loved no.

Having watched the first Harry Potter film and thinking what a load of old tosh, I haven’t bothered with any of the others.
