A young 19 year old centre back called Dynel Simeu who is another who refused to sign a new contract with Chelsea so became a free agent and we snapped him up. Supposed to be a very good prospect but Chelsea are stuffed to the gills with really good prospects and quite a few are now agitating to leave

Regarding Gallagher, I see as a talent, that wouldn’t go amiss at Palace,. But is there any point in only having him on loan? The mid field is an area of the team that needs long term improvement. Loans don’t represent that, Only loan to buy might work, if we are not to go through a similar situation every season . As things were under the restrictions apparent when Hodgson was manager, a loan would have been par for the course, and welcome, But if we are really going to develop a solid unit going forward, are loans of this sort really taking us forward longer term?

According to a Cpl of 'click-bait' sites, CG was seen at St Georges Park in the video of Guehi's welcome speech last week. Chelsea wernt there as far as im aware.

It wouldn't suprise me if we are talking to Chelsea about both Abrahams and Gallagher. I think we would like to buy one and loan the other with a right/obligation to buy. My guess is we would prefer to buy Gallagher at present as he is cheaper. Hower Chelsea would prefer other way round as they are trying to raise funds for there own purchases. Time will tell

I would imagine if you are Chelsea it must be hard keeping all this academy & slightly older talent happy (other than throwing money at the problem) sending them out on loans buys you a season or two but at some point in time they are going to want to see some way into the first team of the club that employs them -
Under FL & the transfer embargo that aspiration must have been fuelled somewhat, then at the first chance they had Chelsea went & bought (whatever it was) say £200 million worth of senior players -

Tuchel has seen Abraham in action and has presumably drawn his conclusions which seem to be that the lad's not a long term solution.

Tuchel is also known to want to see Gallagher before making any decision on him.

On that basis alone (as well as the need to raise silly money for their next extravagant purchase), Chelsea will want to sell Abraham and keep Gallagher or loan him out again.

I don't think we want the loan option.

It will be interesting to see how it all pans out because if, as pre-season unfolds, Gallagher gets the idea that he doesn't have a future at Chelsea he might want out now if he can get it. Let's not forget there are still two and a bit weeks of the window left after the start of the season.

I think we would accept that if there was a right to buy at an agreed price

Nope. He was on a picture of U17 World Cup winners behind Guehli, he was not there in person

You have to wonder when Gallagher, and his advice, realise he could advance his career , quicker by moving on.
Chelsea, will manoeuvre him if possible so as to get top dollar from any move, But when you consider he has little chance of a lengthy future at Chelsea, if you are talking first team,
After all if they are happy to have Gilmour out on loan, then the writing is on the wall as to what’s in store. . Loans are not giving him anything a move to a decent club wouldn’t . In fact the stability offered on decent money in such a move must appeal now he knows it’s a real option if he pushed hard enough.
