For one if you call someone a pr!ck on a football pitch I'm not sure that anyone thinks its more 'okay' if the target is black or 'white and british'. As a side point, players can of course also be 'black and british'.

Secondly, insults or words hold different weight at any given time. While the likes of the n word hold very little weight for you because you bizarrely spend endless hours rallying against those on the receiving end of such language, in society as a whole it is widely agreed that calling someone a t0sser or similar is rather tame when compared to peppering someone with racial slurs.

Please don't give me the one insult is different to another routine. That is crap. An insult is an insult.
It is about time that the media and the victims of such abuse stop pretending otherwise.

You and I might think that insulting people is generally unacceptable, but the media and the police, it seems, only care when it is about racism.

If there is one type of poster who really annoys me it is the ones who deliberately avoid the obvious.

This is about a disproportionate response to a specific type of insult as opposed to another for PR purposes.

Are you doing this on purpose?

If someone uses racist language towards a steward and it is reported by them, there is little option but to remove that individual. If the police are obstructed or attacked when doing their job, I would expect them to act in the same way as they would if that happened in any any circumstance. You favour mob rule in this case, because you disagree with the politics of it, and have a proven history or rounding on those who have been racially abused, rather than those who engage in such behaviour.

Abuse is common place at football matches. Are you suggesting that this was in some way special abuse?
It's almost like the police were waiting in the wings ready for the inevitable.

If you can't see that this is about politics and not about the public interest then I really don't care or feel further need to persuade you.
You can believe what you choose.

Be careful what you wish for.

So if someone shouting t0sser across the road it you, you'd greet it as the same as if they shouted out pedo would you? Glad to hear it old bean. You stick with that colourful approach to life. If someone called your wife a 'dizzy blonde' that's the same as calling her the c word in front of you is it?

Words of course hold different weight and consequence in a society. Again, just because you get a cathartic thrill of berating black people who don't simply put up with being called the n word and the like, it doesn't make your fantasy world become real.

People do have the right to boo taking a knee, but others have the right to question the motives. The majority of the time that leads to a racist.

In this case, Hungarian supporters, forced by UEFA and now FIFA to play games behind closed doors because of racism, and launched a racist attack on a steward.

On the balance of probabilities, he's likely to be right in most cases.

As for the practical gestures Barnes called for:
- Ex-Liverpool forward called for focus on improving education for black children

Yesterday lots of posters got their knickers in a twist over a tube map listing successful black people from History. I don't believe you are calling for more action to help vulnerable kids away from a life in crime because any initiative is greeted with protests. Normally, with whataboutery (what about working class white kids?) as you fail to grasp that help for a minority group does not exclude initiatives that can help out other struggling groups, even though that's the picture extremist groups such as PA want to paint.

I note none of the regulars would post this article...

People have a choice if they are a t0sser or a pedo.

People don't have a choice if they are black, gay, french or disabled.

Calling out one is fair game. Calling out another is wrong.

So you're be fine with bananas thrown onto the pitch and monkey chants then? By your logic that behaviour is perfectly acceptable and all just part and parcel of the game. Just an insult after all, no better or worse than anything else, no need to exclude and nothing for the police to get involved in. I would suggest the reality is that most people know different.

I think it is fair to imagine that Hungarians are not as attuned to multiculturalism as we are, and for obvious reasons. So given that, it seems rather sensational to make a big public spectacle of the obvious just so that everyone can look all virtuous and woke.
I'm sure Hungarians are delighted that they are not attuned to multiculturalism as we have been forced to be.
It means that their every waking moment is not bombarded with race issues and by whining activists.

I'm just saying it in terms of this idea that all 'insults' are equal, and that using the most insulting terms to either project towards someone or describe groups of people are all somehow magically equal regardless of how all of those words or groups are perceived in society.

Yes clearly calling someone a prat is very different from calling a black person the n word and so on. I just figured I'd use examples of words that are seen as especially insulting (c word etc) to help spoonfeed someone who says 'an insult is an insult' while clearly in no way even believing that himself.

When it comes to helping black communities all the worthy whites bang on about racism, most of which is hyperbolic and achieves little if anything.

If anyone were actually serious about helping they would be highlighting the main problem they face which is the lack of a father in the home.

I could bang on about social liberalism being responsible for the very problems it has created with its easy obsession with focusing on virtue signalling issues rather than the root causes of negative life directions.

But like Hrolf said, I'm kind of tired of it all. Let people believe what they want to believe.
