Seriously, what the f*ck is this?

That didn't last long
I'm saying did you break the rules in any way.
These obviously or allegedly did.
I didn't as I believed the science of how it was spreading and how dangerous it actually proved to be. They should all be fined 10k as others were (if any paid!)
who put their family in danger, not me, not you I hope but these muppets.
We can all sit in our ivory towers ramping on about how bad everyone else is but being perfect is reserved for one man; and he lives in Cornwall.

Nope your not

But these people are in charge, making the rules and telling me and you what to do? This isn’t the same as Joe Public breaking the rules.

It’s making rules for the populace that involved an incredible amount of sacrifice, and then laughing about not even following them themselves.

They hold me and you in contempt. Just because you vote for them don’t think they’re on your side.

Yeah, thats true, but I have given up on the working class people to do anything but know their place in society and tip cap now and again! We are a subservient country now more than ever, and historically vote CONservative, so I would prefer as decent a CON as you can get, and have a clear out of this entire cabinet. Start afresh, maybe Richi in charge, good CONS behind him,(they aren"t all thieving crooks), and start by holding a thorough police investigation-with the proceeds of crime people at the front, in to the missing £47 thousand million- that would be a statement of intent that even I would salute the CON pm for!

Go on then CP, explain how YOUR life can be different. I keep reading about us keep taking it up the rectum. What specific changes need to be made. Nothing about tax or 47 billion ppe or your philanthropic utopia of equalling up wealth as that hasn't and never will happen
Just general changes that need to happen to make YOUR life better. I doubt that there are many tbh. Maybe free skol but would you be happy.
Tax always rises and there are always losers and winners, rich and poor etc etc infinitum.

I'm a one man survival tool danh. As it should be.
Covid scared the s***e out of me and if these nerds didn't feel that then I wish I felt like them. I was in and around it regularly and still am. They broke the golden rule not just a rule. They shat on their doorstep big style. If it was boris I would feel different but he wasn't there and probably didn't even know it happened at the time. The guy is not the best we could have but atm he's dealt with a 100 year issue and I wouldn't want that for 9 digits in my bank. I'm prepared to roll with him but I will turn if I thought he crosses that line 'personally'.the guy was in hospital with covid ffs how do you think he feels about this episode.

Yes, and we can all lie about what we know and obfuscate about whether it is actually illegal - or do you get a free pass if you live in Downing Street? But that will catch up with anyone in the end.

This time I think it really will do for the idiot.

How do you know Boris wasn't there?

How did his press secretary know about it but he didn't?

The bit in bold is genuinely funny - your line must be at assaulting members of your family or something, f*ck me.

This story is chip paper by Monday. And I am beginning to suspect that it has been deliberately staged.

They would have known about the story around the party knocking around for a while. And would have known it would eventually emerge.

So you have it break in the 48 hours before you make a major announcement about Covid restrictions with what we are seeing now which is a lock-down light. The narrative changes straight away. A story about a Christmas Party the year before has a relevance that lasts as long as the Christmas of the following year but come December 26th? Nah. Froth.

It's hardly going to help the Tories and is an utter disgrace by any reasoned analysis, but this is managed damage limitation going on.

I get the accusations of hypocrisy and that's fair enough.

Should the rules have been there? That's another topic entirely.

The rules were there and it's clear that, at very best, they chose to push them to their limits. It was beyond stupid of them and indicative of their arrogance. It cannot be defended.

But the politics/optics of how this story has panned out, that is beyond intriguing. And the releasing of that footage, that is the strangest part of it all. Breaks all kinds of unwritten rules in how the game is played.

If ITV have knowingly done it then it can only have been on the understanding, from the very top of the Tory Party, that it would not impact on their relationship with Number 10. An absolute diversion tactic.

Allegra Stratton's last tv job was co presenting Peston if I'm not mistaken.
