So you bang on endlessly about ‘elites’ (whoever they may be) but when they actually totally take this p*ss out of us ‘that’s a reality of the class system’?

Why do we have to accept that? Didn’t we vote Brexit to ‘take back control’ so that we didn’t have to tolerate this ‘them and us’ behaviour?

Well, it's not as if I don't agree with you.

It's just that I don't think the level of anger you have really matches what happened.

'Elites', just like the working or middle class categories have their own levels based upon how much control they have over you. Some you can identify (like your hated Johnson) and some you can't, for various reasons.

As for Brexit, the main point of those votes would have been related to 'freedom of movement'...something that Cameron recognised....and the spirit of that's been pretty much betrayed by Johnson anyway.

So despite the fact some people had to endure the trauma of their loved ones dying alone without them whilst those in power ignored the rules all you've taken away from the last week is 'some posh people had a party'.

Oh dear.

I'm far far more angry about the strictness of those rules than I am about some posh people at a party. This happens up and down the country among all classes....Do you really think that the reason you know about this at all is without cause?

Least we forget. It’s an incredibly difficult time to be PM the moment.
I think he’s doing a reasonable job in the circumstances.

Is this one of those parodies that's too good to be sure?

Johnson has amazed me since becoming PM.

I badly misjudged him....it's like he turned everything he was before upside down.

If he had presented himself as this Tory version of 'woke' thing that he's actually been he would never have become leader.....election winner or not.

What gets at me more is that he doesn't seem to know his own party....if you take the greasy pole careerists out of the vote, because they are that breed who will basically vote for anything the government proposes, this shows how unhappy the Tories are.

If a credible figure emerges to challenge him then I seriously think he's in danger....which is incredible because he's a nailed on winner against Labour......a party that puts men in dresses into women's toilets.

It's nice to see you and a couple of others acknowledge you'd misjudged him, but honestly how?

His track record told you exactly what he is; entirely self-serving, totally dishonest, absolutely no firm beliefs or principles in anything and someone lacking any sort of decency or morals.

As I say, I'm glad he is finally losing some support, but I struggle to understand how anyone is surprised by this.

I'd suggest that moving peoples anger/attention away from the Xmas parties and onto the new variant and surrounding restrictions was entirely by design, as opposed to the other way round.

Vaccine rollouts and the "these are unprecedented times" line are this government's go-to defence of any criticism, so they're much happier to focus on Omricon.

Most politicians are dishonest to some level.

I knew Johnson was an election winner in a party with few charismatic options. However, I've been highly dismayed....Essentially all the main parties are different shades of social liberals and no one has any other voting option.

So I probably won't be voting.

I hate lines like that - it lets people like Johnson off way too easy.

Yes, most politicians are dishonest to some level, as are most people probably, but that doesn't excuse someone who lies as freely and as often as he does.

I didn't vote last time, so we'd have that in common.

Plus a dislike of lies.

I suppose that when the lies come from our political tribe we are more willing to ignore them and when it's the opposite political tribe they anger us more.

I don't really track the day to day political news (I tend to hear about it on here) So I don't really keep track of the detail of Johnson's lies. I guess I'm more interested in the policies and I just don't really see anything conservative in the actual conservative party's leadership.

I agree, this lot are the most left a Tory government has ever been yet are still portrayed by the actual left as being right wing.

I come from an Army family....Many families will have the military culturally ingrained into them. It was a normal part of how I was raised. However, while I've long since passed the age, purely on principle I wouldn't fight for what this country has become....No.

I wouldn't recommend that any young conservative male of any stripe joins the military today....because they are defending a system that doesn't like them and demonises them. It's all been politicised and that polarization has consequences.

correct. And i would echo your sentiments for Eagles living outside the UK also. The Sh1tshow that is now politics in Western Europe is not only not worth defending....we can applaud its ultimate and inevitable collapse.

British patriots got fecked over in the UK. Irish patriots are looking at the embarrassment of a State their country has become.

And the French military are nearly openly organising a military coup on Macron.

Would you fight to defend your country ? i wouldnt bother getting off the sofa
