I'd be highly surprised if he left for a club that he didn't consider to be bigger. Villa aren't really that.

They've got a bigger ground though. Does that count?

They've never won anything either.

Why are men so obsessed with the size of everything?

They do don't they....just looked it up.

Surprising really, we won't even get close after redevelopment.

As for Zaha, I'd be amazed if he went to a club that wasn't in the hunt for honours.....then again, maybe it'll come down to sheer size of the wages.

In recent years football is attracting big money and premier club values are going through the roof.
I am very wary of the whole thing. When you see someone like Bill Foley buying in it makes me very nervous.
The American model is one of growing value which is why they are creating groups of clubs. I am far from convinced. None of them have our sport in their blood.
With the Middle Eastern entry into the game we are now going to different much higher levels as the World Cup has shown. And of course PSG Man City and recently Newcastle.
We have fallen into American hands which is very different and less appealing than Middle Eastern unless you don’t like The Middle Eastern culture ruling ways etc.
unfortunately our investors a bit like Bill Foley are hard nosed money men lacking any emotion for their companies.
Only time will tell.

What concerns me about these American consortiums is they will become a spiders web. Some of these groups may have unofficial links to each other through friends or relatives. So Palace end up buying or selling a player from a club with no links to Textor on paper yet it's all Smoke and Mirrors.

The other thing is that the Americans now own 11? PL clubs how long before they and the Arabs can out vote everybody else e.g. no relegation.

We could have rejected the American money and now be playing in the Championship or League One. I doubt CPFC2010 could of achieved what they did, when they took over in todays landscape.

They're a pretty big club. The view at Villa Park is excellent - steep and close to the pitch. From my memory a very big team in Birmingham and the West Midlands with shirts everywhere. I lived in the Midlands for years and had loads of Villa mates. I would always go to all of Palace's Midlands away games - which could be hairy enough in the 80s and even 90s quite frankly. Birmingham City always the worst. I think there was a year Villa won the title using only 12 players or something like that. Pretty amazing really.
