Truly entertaining (live on Thai TV) game. Doucure a bargain, but Vieira need to take out Schlupp ASAP. He is doing some good things, but overfall roam around in no man's land or pass backwards.
CD therefore has to do the work of two players.
Our goals just beautiful - Zaha's winner much like to the goal Eze scored to win us the game against Leeds.
Still not sure about our 4-3-3 formation - the opposition pass thru us like we're non present in midfield. 7 points in the last three, not bad. And we still have to play Forest, Bournemouth, Soton and Fulham before Qatar take over...should be a couple of more points there.

To me , of course we should look at what happened, how they broke quickly, who did & didn't go with their runner, the freedom to make the cross & how Traore ended up with pretty much a free header 6 yards from goal, the lessons are there to be learnt both as a defensive force & an attacking one, its difficult to be critical given our second half display (& Eze,s goal) but in the not so distant past how many times have we stood in the stands wishing for us to break that quickly & be so clinical with the cross & finish.

People keep blaming Olise for the cross that led to Wolves lone goal but that looked like prime Joel Ward territory to me. He was lost in the middle of the pitch.

I can think of so many matches now under Vieira where we were significantly stronger in the second half than the first. It's difficult to know what to make of it.

On the one hand why don't we "just" perform for 90 minutes. On the other, it suggests Vieira is a powerful motivator and that the team is fit. We appeared to have more in the tank than Wolves, I felt.

Zaha was sensational last night. I think he's warming to the way the refs have allowed more physicality and is applying his own attributes to the situations. He dropped in between the lines, linked us up, turned....stunning. And his goal of course.

If this is his last season with us, I'm just going to enjoy it.

Eze continues working at his game and is going from strength to strength. Yes, he still needs physicality and a sharper appreciation of his defensive role and responsibilities. But his ability to receive the ball and either turn or find a crisp, simple pass to a team mate is invaluable (and has defensive benefits).

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

Would love to see Luka, Will or Jairo get more minutes for Schlupp. Doucoure needs some support plus he can go forward more with another DM. 4-2-3-1 brings best out of everyone: Zaha, Eze, Olise and Edouard. Hopefully we see Ebiowei get some chances off the bench as well.

Doucoure is out for the Everton game due to picking up five bookings. This could be where our lack of squad depth really shows as he has been having to do the defensive work of two players as it is. I must admit finding out this news has tempered my expectations for the weekend.

If Hughes is still ill perhaps go 4-4-2 with Eze left mid Milivojevic and Riedewald (or Schlupp) centre mid, Ayew right, Wilf playing off Edouard up top. It might give us a bit more in the middle and Wilf was certainly more dangerous operating centrally last night.

Another unconvincing Jekyll and Hyde performance. However, a welcome 3 points, and a tremendous second half effort. When is Vieira going to accept hat 4-3-3 doesn't work with this particular set of players?

He only has 4, so when he gets booked against Everton, he will miss the Southampton game i think he could do with the rest, poor sod

I can't believe he can't see it, only Liverpool, Man City, Newcastle and we play it regularly, you are spot on, the full backs are crucial in that formation, AA and Robertson scored 22 goals between them last season. If you had to 433 it would have to be like this, awful.
Guaita
Clyne, Anderson, Guehi, Schlupp
Hughes, Luka, Doucoure
Olise, Wilf, Eze.

I notice Anthony Gordon is also out for Everton.
