It's only a last minute activity when a club is in panicking mode. We're not in that category. The Wilf situation muddies the waters because of the financial implications. I would expect that to only affect the player who might be at the bottom of our list of intended targets. Dougie was monitoring Eze, OLise and Guehi for many months before we bought them in (No, I'm not ITK - the club have publicly acknowledged that). Having said all that - make your mind up Wilf!

We will undoubtedly have been working on identifying the players we might like to bring in for many months now. It's only a last minute activity when a club is in panicking mode. We're not in that category.

As far as I'm concerned, as long as Wilf has informed the board of his decision in good time, then nothing else matters.

Zaha has been a great servant to the club, and he deserves respect for that and to do things in his own time and way.

I am certain that Parish will not allow the club's business to be disrupted.

In some ways I see parallels in the situation of Zaha and Neves at Wolves. Both the best players at their respective clubs for a number of years and yet for some reason the big clubs have never bitten. If anything Neves has been strongly linked with even better clubs than Zaha (e.g Man City and Barcelona) and like Zaha has expressed an interest in playing Champions League football. For all the hype on both players though the most concrete interest seems to have come from Saudi Arabia with Neves apparently on the verge of joining a Saudi club. Neves is younger than Zaha at 27 but obviously top clubs are not convinced. It seems top clubs at this stage remain unconvinced by Zaha as he’s a free agent but despite noises about PSG and Chelsea Zaha doesn’t seem to be knocked down in the rush.

Well he chucked in a transfer request on the dawn of the season a few years ago. Then his brother came out in the press and said that after all he'd given us we owed him a transfer to his dream club Arsenal.
